OK, I understand it is a known issue on the radar and that apparently it may not be straightforward to address (and indeed, I haven't obviously seen your codebase). Hope you find a solution - it would avoid wasting valuable compute time in such situations.

Curious what it would do if you started power limiting. I normally end up being at 70-80% power limit and only lose like 5% off the max performance. Granted, I only waited a couple of frames, so not definitive, but at least it looks like performance doesn't drop drastically with a lower power limit...
