Re: 12129 is cruel to small GPUs
Well, I thought I had avoided them with the 7.6.21 option "max-packet-size" SMALL, which is supposedly applied to the size of the output file, and was designed for use back in the day when folk used dial-up. It seemed to work for 18251, but the 12129 output files are around 250MB and thus ...

Re: How do I fold with Two GPUs in One box under Windows 11?
Update: The same approach works with three GPUs, at least under W10. I bought another Z4G4 on Ebay with the intention of moving my three RTX 2060s from Z440s (ie Z4 G3 devices, not acceptable to W11). Snag is that the Ebay description said it had the usual 750W PSU, but it came with the 465W one th...

Re: not interested in PFAS (per poly fluorid alcyles)
My local (New South Wales) Department of Health has just issued a report on the topic, after some months of meetings of an expert committee. Their proceedings and conclusions can be seen at: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/Pages/pfas-expert-panel.aspx . In the light of their conclusions ab...

Re: 12129 is cruel to small GPUs
Hi again BobWilliams757 1. Smaller and elderly (or vintage) for sure, but definitely not "lesser". 8-) The three 2060's have completed more than 6000 WUs each and no doubt they had busy and interesting lives before they ended up on eBay and became Folding workhorses in appepi's stable. 2. ...

Now finished, all OK, slow upload ~230 MB , 886,194 points, RTX2060 on another project at usual 2,1 MPPD. Re: 12129 is cruel to small GPUs
Well, that particular run - PCRG [12129,6,52,0] - is still happening for another 2 hours, and while it will bring me about 1M points, it works out at around 1.3M PPD for a device that usually does 2.2M PPD, and it will have run for about 16 hours by the time it finishes, so I will be perfectly happy...

12129 is cruel to small GPUs
I was startled to discover one of my Z440/RTX2060 combinations "Finishing" a WU with 7+ hours still to run long after the others had completed their 9 hours of running during the "off peak" electricity rates. I let Project 12129 ramble on through the day consuming expensive elect...

Re: not interested in PFAS (per poly fluorid alcyles)
A quick search on Pubmed suggests to me that research on PFAS is by no means a waste of my hardware and I would be happy to select it as a preferred field if it were offered. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7906952/ With many health effects noted for a relatively few example compounds and h...

Re: Make a post about your issue on https://foldingforum.org/ to get more help
A possible test regime: If it is a new PC and (apparently) only "unstable" on FaH WUs, then presumably you can make a claim on the supplier, warranty etc. The snag is that FaH is an unusual thing to do. I am assuming that you are running a CPU with only 1 type of core and letting the Fah 8...

Well, according to this shortcut with the creative title "logs-Shortcut" on my W10 desktop here,It would be very usefull to know where the log file is, Google has not been much help so far.
C:\ProgramData\FAHClient\logs, with the most recent one in C:\ProgramData\FAHClient .

Re: How do I fold with Two GPUs in One box under Windows 11?
Since we have been talking about NVIDIA drivers in the 570 series, and for some Pascal-series GPU's, it is worth Googling "NVIDIA end of support 580" to get links to lots of tech newletters expressing various thoughts about the upcoming end of support. This applies to Linux also, see for e...

Re: How do I fold with Two GPUs in One box under Windows 11?
"NVIDIA just works"... if you install ONE driver that works for both GPUs, at least in the special cases of identical GPUs below when ... ... you put 2xP1000 GPUs in the 2 PCIe3 x 16 slots of Z4G42-11 and install PB driver R570 U6 (573.42) from https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details...

Re: How do I fold with Two GPUs in One box under Windows 11?
From the desk of Z4G41-11 at 2:40am: The NVIDIA Installer for PB Driver 573.42 says that it cannot continue because "... This graphics driver could not find compatible hardware." The only available and relevant hardware was the GTX1080. Some further net searches found a user stating blunt...
