Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v6/v7

Awesome Harlam, much appreciated. I have now started to move over all my clients to v7. There is only one thing I don't like in this combination (HFM and v7). I know it is a cosmetic error in v7, but when you pause a slot, it shuts it down with a error code.. which HFM then picks up as a failed WU. ...

Re: Project: 7600 (Run 38, Clone 15, Gen 26)

No overclock on this system.. It's just running stock. The error appears to come from a shutdown problem or something along those lines. viewtopic.php?f=47&t=16305 viewtopic.php?f=67&t=20576 that would be a self-generated (perhaps not the right word) error then, as the system was kept runnin...

Re: can you run two or more clients with your username on th

yep, you can run loads of clients with the same name, team and passkey. do note however that it is not recommended to run multiple clients(V6) or Slots (v7) on 1 CPU core, as they will steal CPU time from eachother *added the slots instead of only having clients in there, thanks MtM for pointing tha...

Re: Newbie with some questions :D

Those temps are acceptable for a i7 series processor. However since this is not overclocked and overclocking is so easy on Sandy-Bridge I would suggest an upgrade to the CPU cooler. I personally am a fan of the Noctua NH-D14, which I am using on my own systems, other good coolers are the Thermalrigh...

Re: NEW to folding, what to use

First off, which client are we talking about here? the regular systray v6? If so, you are able to run the SMP client, which will utilize both of your CPU cores. Which will yield you a lot more points then a single Systray. The difference between the CPU and the GPU client is basically which of your ...

Re: Newbie with some questions :D

I think Bruce got most of the questions there ;)

Except for the tempreture of the CPU that is..
and for that, one easy question:
Which CPU are we talking about? Also important, what's your cooling solution for it? ;)

Re: Need a passkey

With the 6.34 version you can't. It's only possible with the uniprocessor (classic) clients, the GPU clients or the new v7 Beta. The last one gives you some nice new control options. And the possibility to run multiple clients from one controlprogram. if you want to switch to the v7 client I sugest ...

Re: Need a passkey

IIRC, the passkey was sent very fast to my email adres, so I think you should already have it. Do however check the spambox of you mailprovider, because the passkey is a large key of random letters and numbers it is very plausible that it would trigger a spamfilter. You can run the SMP client withou...

Re: Another Noob w/client question

I have been running the v7 for some time, basically from the first day of open-beta. And I haven't missed a day or WU due to the bugs, so on my systems it runs stable. The V7 client/system, is far easier to control. but there is no performance gain as far as I can tell. There is however a big differ...

Oh, true. It is indeed detected: 7.98GiB, 6.41GiB free... removing argument now :D The working set of the current WU is just 100MB, I guess it's because the project Kfactor is only 2.10? Nope, the Kfactor only affects the points received for the WU, or at least AFAIK. The Ram Usage is just determin...
