Noob question

Post by WicktheWild »

I am running a i7 6700k at 4.7ghz and dual fe rtx 2070 super at 1935mhz all under a custom loop. According to hwmonitor everything is running at max and my loop temp says the same about 45c. But i am only showing 300k ppd, shouldnt this be more like 3mil ppd?

If im just a dummy you can say so i wont be offended just want to help research a bit in my free time and can afford the electric bill.

Welcome to the folding support forum.

Most often when the reported PPD is low, no passkey has been entered into the client. A large portion of the points come from the Quick Return Bonus (QRB), and that requires a passkey.

So request a passkey, enter and complete 10 units with at least 80% success rate and you are away. With the system you describe this should be within a day easily.

Once the passkey is active your rig will be good for 2.6-3.2 million ppd

Dont think i will fold anymore, shortly after it bsod my pc. And it couldnt find one of my gpus. Took me an hour to get everything back to normal. After i oced my rig i ran occt for a day with zero errors. It is (was) a very stable oc. Wondering if the internal case temp got to high for the mobo. My loop has a 360 rad on intake and a 240 and 120 on the out. Loop temp settled in at 46c.

That is up to you. However, OCCT is only a general test, and we have learned from years of reports that systems can be stable under such tests but not folding stable. Running the F@h client is a stress test that will show any weakness not shown by other tests. It would probably work fine with a bit lower OC.
