Re: Folding on Android with UserLAnd and the new Linux ARM b
Just curious, how much PPD did you get? And how hot was the phone? If I'm understanding correctly it does not use the GPU of the phones yet? This is not something you can just carry around with you running in the background on your phone, your phone will lose charge quickly, so have your phone charg...

Re: 128.252.203.11 is down
Hi, I realized that somehow another user already uploaded the same work unit somehow... Weird... https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu#project=16460&run=0&clone=1760&gen=3 Now if FAH does not need this work unit any more, how do I delete it? I have looked into some other work units my pc did...

Re: Dual X5650 giving me 20k PPD, why so slow?
Just another result: CPU:12 alone ~ 75k PPD (work unit was 4.5% complete) CPU:12 while GPU slot running: ~ 64k ppd only (work unit 14% complete) So, actually I realized, that the FPU (floating point unit) doing the science maths (that is big part of workunits) does not have hyper-threading,and pract...

Re: Dual X5650 giving me 20k PPD, why so slow?
Hi, I can tell for sure, 20K PPD for these CPUs is sort-of low. Do you have a passkey? Did you do something like 10+ workunits (if I remember correctly) already to have the quick return bonus kick in? Do you pause the folding or turn of the PC often? (I usually click finish button and wait for all W...

Fahcontrol says Cuda not detected
I have all the drivers installed, GPU is folding, but I see something weird in the "System info" of FahControl, it is missing cuda even if I installed that. OS: Linux 5.3.0-53-generic x86 64 CUDA: Not detected, failed to open dynamic library 'libcuda.so': libcuda.so: cannot open shared obj...

Re: Mining Rig
Hi! I use my old mining rig for folding, it has 6 P106 GPUs and I can do 1,7M PPD :) Did you register a passkey for yourself? 1.7M is a bit small, my RTX2070 + 2 old xeon processors almost reach that level. If you have passkey, and folded ahandful of workunits successfully, then you may get quick r...

Re: updates on linux?
I have updated my installation (all the components, client, control, viewer too). Also, I don't want to mess up running WUs by other system updates. First, click "finish" on the FAHControl. Wait to finish and upload all the currently running stuff. Install new version of the packages. (sys...

Re: fan is loud when folding
I think, blow the dust out of the laptop, and put it on something (like, four bottle caps or a laptop cooler), not directly on the table, so you can have airflow. (if you are brave enough, and the laptop isn't new, maybe redo the cooling pasta on the CPU/GPU, hopefully there are youtube videos to do...

Re: My main folding account seems to have been deleted
Hi, it really seems that you have sent the last work unit on that name in 2018.
did you reistall something?
is everything properly configured? check for typo? (probably in worst case you have been contributing anonymously)

Re: Is the project number, ie 13877, related to a location?
What location? Not related to your location on earth, I have seen many different projects here in eastern Europe. Not related to location on genome. There are projects in a lot of different topics. (and that's different protein in diferent situation) see descriptions here: https://apps.foldingathome...

Re: Docker can't get work units, laptop gets them fine.
...so it's more simple to have backup and air gap for important stuff. Agree with backups... air gap is good for unless you have a state actor interested in your data and they are ways to bypass it: https://www.zdnet.com/article/academics ... ibrations/ That's a good collection. State actors most l...

Re: PPD Database - HFM exports needed
I wrote a quick and dirty bash script that does this: https://github.com/patrick-tavares/foldingathome_tools. Not sure if it reports on everything you want but it may be a start ;) It does not report anything for me. I'm running fahclient in a terminal window. Somehow the installed service did not ...

Re: Docker can't get work units, laptop gets them fine.
The use case for me is security, I'd rather run software there where it doesn't have access to my actual filesystem. I know, I'm kind of paranoid too to connect my whole (otherwise air gapped) workstation to the internet for long time. So I relocated the air gap, sort of. -I had a spare SSD, I inst...

Re: PPD Database - HFM exports needed
Is there any linux version for this? this thing seems to use .net and all windows stuff. How do i find the relevant info on linux machine? by the way, my PPD, copy-pasted just from what i see right now in fahcontrol: gpu:0:TU106 [GeForce RTX 2070] M 6497 ; estimated ppd of this slot right now (at 73...
