Re: Stats are back up
My experience is that we saw a massive spike of points at the end of Friday at Extreme Over Clocking. It's quite a thrill.

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
One way to achieve additional redundancy is to make the FAH Clients DNS aware . The hostmaster can configure DNS so that an nslookup for gpu.stanford.edu can return a list of valid IP addresses, and the FAH client simply tries each IP in the list until it succeeds. Add a few more servers, or change ...

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
FAH has to do it with low cost options. It's way easier to hard code a server address in a new client than to put up the kind of multiple Network Operation Centers like Google and your Bank has to monitor, maintain, staff, upgrade, etc. Target just got hacked. 1000s of credit card #s and personal i...

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
So my FAH client was going to wait 45 minutes before requesting another GPU work unit. Being rather impatient I opened a terminal and entered: sudo /etc/init.d/FAHClient restart and sure enough it requested and got a GPU work unit with sugar on top. The room temperature is climbing again to normal. :D

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
Methinks the sysadmins in California have no idea how freaking cold it is in the rest of the USA. No idea how much we need our Folding Farms to heat the room. And nothing heats a room than an nVidia GTX 780 a-Folding on all of its cores.

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
I expect everybody attempting GPU folding at this time is getting the following in their log: 03:15:22:WU01:FS01:Connecting to assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80 03:16:25:WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get assignment from 'assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80': Failed to connect to assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80: Connection...

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
Did you read the requirements section of the install guide on the fah web site? It says no OSX support for GPUs. It also says Fermi or above in Linux. Given that I don't know Kepler from Fermi or Copernicus the GPU requirements were not helpful to me. Given that the FAH client lets you configure a ...

Re: Getting rejected by assignment server (GPU)
I have three machines a Folding. One is an Ubuntu 12.04 machine happily folding on its nVidia GTX 780 GPU. One is an Ubuntu 12.04 machine unable to get a work unit for its nVidia 8800 GT. One is a Macintosh unable to get a work unit for its nVidia 8800 GT. All are getting work units for CPU Folding....

Re: GTX 780 will not fold
The patch has not been applied to the Linux version. The user has to manually place GPUs.txt into the fahclient's home folder. Even doing that is not helping because in a few seconds the Queue for the GPU reports
FahCore returned: BAD_WORK UNIT (114 = 0x72)
Always something.
