Re: 129.213.157.105 (oracle2.foldingathome.org) silent

Thanks for the report. The researchers are aware of this and are enabling new GPU projects/ adding new simulations now that Sprint 5 is nearing the end.

Re: Running F@h through Terminal (command line)

When you start FAH via the terminal using `sudo /etc/init.d/FAHClient start`, it runs in the background. To double check if it is running, you can use `ps -ef | grep FAHClient` or simply top as Neil-B has suggested. To see the progress, you can `tail /var/lib/fahclient/log.txt` as Knish suggested.

Re: Windows 10 suddenly stopped folding

@russell_heater,

1. Do you have the latest motherboard drivers or AMD drivers for the card?
2. What is your Windows version (as reported by the command winver)?

Re: 0% progress after unpacking to cores folder

Can you try what happens when you run the core in standalone mode? 1. Navigate to the folder D:\Folding\data\cores/cores.foldingathome.org/win/64bit/22-0.0.13/Core_22.fah 2. In the location bar, type cmd 3. In the command prompt, type FahCore_22.exe -info 4. Report the output here. I will try instal...

Re: Install FAH on computer with non-admin primary user

I believe it is trying to download the core to a location that requires admin access and is failing as it is being run from a non-admin account. Are you running FAHClient from C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient directly? If so, that could explain it. Running FAHClient in that manner will cause errors ...

Re: Bug report: FAH client cannot detect more than 32 CPUs

Thanks. In both the A7 and 22 core startup sections (and the A8 section in Neil-B's log), the CPUs is correctly detected as 36. However in the client startup right in the beginning, it is incorrectly detected as 32. I see two ( 1 , 2 ) CPU count detection routines in C! that are presumed to be used ...

Re: Bug report: FAH client cannot detect more than 32 CPUs

I'd thought the known bug was that the Windows client detected the logical processor count from the current group in a multi socket configuration. However, this shouldn't manifest in the case of the Intel Xeon W-2295 processor which is single CPU with 18 physical cores/ 36 logical cores. Is there an...

Re: project:14217 run:1724 clone:3 gen:0 failed on 16 & 12 c

The respective work servers keep track of how many times a WU has failed and also reissued. Most projects are set to reissue a WU 5 times if it has been returned in faulty. In most cases, faulty submissions are due to instabilties in hardware or a misconfiguration on the user's system (e.g., missing...

Re: Folding is not fun right now - lots of trouble, no resul

Hi ThWuensche, thanks for these reports. So far, you're the only one who's been issued the two 13420 WUs in your log that failed at 0%. While it's true that the number of failures have reduced from earlier 134XX projects, a few of these can still fail due to them being bad WUs -- we'll wait and see ...

Thanks for reporting this UofM.MartinK. The faulty unit has been flagged to the researchers for review and action. The stats for the server that hosts this project are delayed and a few days out of sync. See viewtopic.php?f=18&t=35864#p340220 The necessary folks are aware of this and looking int...
