Project 3798
Two of my (off-site) clients just returned a p3798, how many points ? (I guess 5), which core ?
It does not show up on the project summary page.
Since I understand that these WUs are served from the "new" v5 software, I would like to report a bug.
These p3798 projects cause the Active Processors stats indicator to be incremented falsely by one.
There is only 1 client with client Fred_PC (team Mactin), since it completed four p3798, stats now report 2.
Same with Client PQ_2008 (team Mactin), the are 4 clients, since the p3798, stats report 5.
Thank you

Re: Project 3798
Yes, p3798 gives 5 points. It's for the FahCore_78. I don't know if the project caused active processors counter to increase, but mine is sky high too. I have only 4 clients running (3 on one PC and 1 on another) and my stats shows 6 for the last 7 days and 14 for the last 50 days. I'm using Extreme OC to check my stats, so I haven't noticed when the counter got confused.

Re: Project 3798
Thanks. We'll look into the increase in the CPU count issue.

Re: Project 3798
Those two clients have UserIDs of 29A7F05AE3XXXXXXXX (last WU was 2008-11-29 12:22:03 Proj=3798) and 12AC33E35AXXXXXXXX (last WU was 2008-11-25 18:11:26 Proj=4611). Which one is right, or is it possible that they are both right?Mactin wrote:There is only 1 client with client Fred_PC (team Mactin), since it completed four p3798, stats now report 2.

Re: Project 3798
Fred_PC is my niece's PC. It's a P4 (no HT) running at 2.8GHz, I installed on it a single v5.04 client running as a service.
From the records I have (september) her UserID is 12AC33E35AF0A728.
She is not at home now, so I cant get her present log file. But, there is no way she is running two clients, she would not know how to
I keep a record of projets and aproximate times as they are completed.
I noticed that the Active Processor count incremented to 2 has she completed four p3798 in a row yesterday (29-nov) around 20h00U, 5 points each.
Previously : p4611, 26-nov 2h00U, 47 points
p4611, 24-nov 0h00U, 0 points
p4618, 24-nov 0h00U, 84 points
p4605, 20-nov 2h00U, 47 points
p4625, 18-nov 2h00U, 47 points
p4615, 16-nov 20h00U, 119 points
As for PQ_2008, I have not recorded the UserIDs for the 4 clients.
We are having elections here in Québec (8-dec) and I am the volunteer responsible for the computers in our local precinct offices. I installed it on 4 CPUs (two Celerons, two P4s), I would be greatly surprised if someone had installed it elsewhere with the same User name an Team. Everything was running smoothly then a 3798 and as a bonus a 5th Active Processor in the stats !
Is it a coincidence that in both cases where I processed a p3798, I have an extra Active Processor ? This should be easy to replicate in the lab.

Project 3798 (Various)
Just ran 3 of these.Project 3798
This project is just to test some new FAH code.
No issues on my end, just wanted to post the client output in case someone is interested.

Re: Project 3798
I, too, can report phantom processors. That would explain how I got from 8 to 9 to 10 as two of my CPU units picked up these projects. I thought maybe someone was being generous. User ID on one is: User ID: 14991F842XXXXXXX. I'll have to wait to get access to my other machine that's processed these units and then I'll edit this post.
Edit: Other user id: User ID: 643790372XXXXXXX. However, I have one other machine w/ these units, so why don't I have 11 processes?
Edit 2: Last CPU w/ these WUs, at least for now. User ID: 4F67008A4XXXXXXX

Re: Project 3798
I've had another this pas night. User PQ_2008 is now reporting 6 processors (two extra).
BTW, it's still not showing up in Psummary.

Re: Project 3798
From threads I have seen, I should not be receiving these. Just wondering why I have received 23 of them so far.
Project: 3798 (Run 11, Clone 0, Gen 48)
Project: 3798 (Run 61, Clone 4, Gen 38)
Project: 3798 (Run 76, Clone 3, Gen 42)

Project: 3798 (Run 73, Clone 3, Gen 47)
FahMon does not seem to recognize this although it is using:
Core required: FahCore_78.exe.
Another as I type this, almost done already: Project: 3798 (Run 3, Clone 0, Gen 49)
I only have one machine receiving these so far, but I am experiencing the extra processor being added as others have reported.

Re: Project 3798
This project has been opened up to regular clients to generate enough data for their tests. The issue with the the phantom processor counts has been reported to PG and they are looking into it. If you notice any other weird behavior, do post here.
I noticed you posted Project: 3798 (Run 73, Clone 3, Gen 47) twice. Did you get this twice or was it just a copy-paste error?

Also noticed one of my other machines has run through 10 or so of these. They get done so quickly I really need to sift through the logs to catch them. Thanks for the info though.
Still kind of odd that FahMon can't seem to fiugure them out. I guess because they get done in chunks of 33-1/3%. I seem to recall FahMon had some problems with the Dbl Gromacs I think due to them chunking out at 2% each step. But that's for another topic...

Re: Project 3798
I'm currently getting a string of these. Noted the following behavior: unitinfo.txt is set to 0% at beginning of unit ("Writing local files") and set directly to 100% when the unit is 67% complete ("Completed 1000 out of 1500 steps (67%)"). This probably drives FahMon bonkers.
