FYI
I know this was reported in other posts as being resolved for others - however - my farm (even after redeploying the VMs as a troubleshooting step) still can't procure GPU WUs and some CPU WUs. Seeing if there is still a known issue/outage?

EDIT2: I bumped them to 12 CPUs and were able to get WUs.
After it downloaded the WUs, I set the CPUs back to 4 and unpaused. It seems to be running fine and will finish the WU in about 3h, well ahead of the 3d deadline.

The issue continues. I am only able to get a WU by setting CPU=12. Tried 6, 8, 9, 10.
It seems rather ridiculous that the min CPU for these WUs is 12, considering that 4 CPUs completes the work in 3h.
You need to relax. You were explained what the situation is right now, and it will not change any time soon, unless there is new projects for CPUs coming in. And for a moment there isn't.

There might not be enough CPU work for 4 threads.
Is there a place where we can look for information on what's available? A few days ago I noticed trouble getting CPU work (which is all I do for F@h) but then it seemed to stabilise, while today I notice the situation appears to have returned.

No. There are server stats but they will not show you what are the splits.
Currently we have 800k CPU WUs available. Something is broken that there is no work for low core count clients out of all those WUs
Is it always about CPU core counts? My largest host allocates 20 cores and occasionally I see it unable to get any work assignments (during these periods of work shortages).

Restrictions are per core count and nothing else.
My 30 thread CPUs have not had any hickups

I thought it was a jumble of cpus, os, arch in the constraints
Not for every project though.
I'm trying to get through to Sonya in regards to their constraints, but with no success.
This weekend probably will have to check and see which servers have most WUs and then ask researchers about the constraints.

In the US it is a hard time to get in touch with people at universities. Fall semesters at them are either just started or about to start. New grad students are being brought in, and some are leaving if they are finished with their research for their degrees. Some will just be getting back if they took some time off during the Summer.

Yes, 144.121.86.56 / fahserver1.flatironinstitute.org has always show weird behaviour for its A9 projects : low assign rate and projects that automatically reduces threads count from 8 to 7 for no reason, no assignment to 12 CPUs, ...
By the way, this server is currently down.

Is there a FAQ that has an answer for why some projects are requiring a certain # thread CPU count to download the WU, but then, as is my case, I can drop the CPUs down to 4 and it still completes in under 4 hours? It seems like the requirements for 12 or more CPUs isn't really correct in terms of returning a WU before the deadline. Is there more to the CPU requirement than that?
