Work Units Details fail to show credited points ?

Post by Mactin »

The "Work Unit Detail" page on he Web client fails to show "Logged Credits" for a specific WU processed hours ago.
My client has processed three other WUs since and correctly shows logged credits for each of them,

I know it takes a few minutes for credits to show up, as I write this it has been 7 hours. Have the results been uploaded ?

Also, since the extreme overclocking stats site is down, I can't double check from a second source.

The WU in question is p18240-r693-c2-g444.

First, the Extreme Overclocking stats site is not down.

Second you can check whether a WU has been credited using the WU Status app from this page - https://apps.foldingathome.org

I did check and it hasn't been entered into the stats database. Delays in that can come from being returned to a collection server instead of the work server it came from, the stats upload once the CS connects back to the WS. Or the WS has lost connection with the stats database server and that needs to be fixed up.

Finally this forum doesn't host images. You would need to use one of the image hosting sites and link to that to post an image here.

Thanks for the quick reply :

The link I have been using for 15+ years is returning : "The server at folding.extremeoverclocking.com is taking too long to respond."
It did this about two weeks ago, came back for a few days and went away again a few days ago.

In the time you took to reply, I saw there was a topic about EOC on the forums. I interpret it as being down/gone.

I just started folding again this spring (I wanted to "test" my new M4 MacBookAir) and got addicted and purchased a "gaming" PC just to fold.
I stopped folding in 2020 after doing it for more or less 10-15 years (my first post here is from 2007).
I remember another stats site (kakao, or something similar).
All this to say the link https://apps.foldingathome.org/ is totally new to me. Great tool :-)

Not sure why you are not able to connect to EOC, the link I have been using is still currently working for me. Here on the forum there was an update to the info about EOC, a number of people donated and he has enough to operate at least through the end of this year. He may need to relocate the server.

Kakaostats was around, the person operating the site decided to stop. Someone in S. America took up the code and had a site operating for a while, then stuff happened and they also stopped. The code may still be out there if someone wanted to revive it.

EOC connectivity problems are a home-office networking problem.

Yesterday afternoon I took my iPad with me for my bike ride. Midway, in a break, I took my iPad out and connected thru my iPhone hotspot. EOC worked !

This morning, I connected successfully thru my iPhone hotspot again.
I have to diagnose why only EOC does not connect thru my home network.

Have a nice day

Your home network may be using a different DNS and that hasn't updated if the EOC site moved would be my first guess.

It has now expired. No signs of the WU having been re-issued and processed by another donor.
I dont care for the points. I do care for the wasted donor resources.
I will followup tomorow.

There has been issues of banned IPs at EOC for a long time ... yours is probably in the list.

Try to contact Jason (from your working connection) : https://www.extremeoverclocking.com/contact_info.php

Merci toTOW.

=======
Le lien que tu as fourni ne marches pas !!! J'oubliais que ça marcherait pas plus que les stats.
=======

The link you supplied did not work !!! I has forgotten I had to use my cellphone ISP not my home network ISP.
I wrote to Jason to let him know.

*** Further testing shows you are probably on the right path. I canot access EOC with my neighbours home network (with his wifi but the same ISP).

*** Joe_H suggested looking into my DNS settings. I use Quad9 and switched to Cloudflare, Google, OpenDNS and finally my ISP to always get the same non functioning result.

Edit, 15 minutes later:
Jason took ten minutes to reply to my message to him and unblocked my ISPs IP address.
Merci encore à toTOW
