How come my RTX 3060 Nvidia GPU doesn't work with Folding@Home on the latest version of Ubuntu?

And when will the folding@Home software be added to the Ubuntu software center?

You need to give more information than that. What is the output of your logs? Please post the log output. But common reasons it may not work are:

• You are using Nouveau instead of the official Nvidia driver
• You do not have CUDA installed (the library that lets your GPU be used for computations instead of just graphics)
• You are not running FAH as the fah-client user, or the fah-client user is not in the render group

Maybe "sudo ubuntu-drivers install --gpgpu" would help with the first two? And the third should be solved by installing the FAH package with "sudo dpkg -i" which I assume you've already done. But you've got to post the logs to get real help.

And when will the folding@Home software be added to the Ubuntu software center?

When someone sends a message to the Ubuntu maintainer mailing list and requests to become the maintainer of it (and actually maintains it).

FAH will not be added to any of the software centres, unless someone actually takes responsibility to maintain it. We had Snap version of FAHclient. It was not done properly and caused crashes which were not present on normal version of fahclient.
It took me months to hunt down the maintainer to remove it from Snap. They said that they no longer maintained it due to real life responsibilities, which is understandable, but does not help FAH in any way

Yes, the "and actually maintains it" is the most important part.

It should be easy enough and I would offer to do it myself buuuut I also could disappear so I'm not the best person to do it.
