Tested it. For a project with a number of atoms of 263 487, the PPD is below average (for example, on a project 18725 with a number of atoms more than three times smaller (77 809), the PPD is higher). On RTX 4090 no more than 21-22M (I expected at least 26-28M), since for 14939 and 14955 (296 245 and 299 845 atoms, respectively) the PPD is 29-30M on the same RTX 4090.
Is it possible to increase the base credit?

Don't base your maths on p18725, as a small project that wouldn't usually hit GPUs like yours, it includes a bonus to reach nominal PPD on (most) big GPUs.

If set as usual, it should be set to assign to NV species <= 7 with a base credit of 120 000, like p18717 ...

Yeah, everything is well on my end too. I've seen in the logs that one of my AMD cards was looking up for a WU for what would have been 30 minutes or so, but otherwise, but I did not see any in a "Waiting" state since maybe a week or so. I only look up at my PCs once a day, but still, I had many issues the week prior while it's not the case now.

For the last few weeks, I keep getting assigned to the same work server 129.32.209.200 (vav17.fah.temple.edu) that often has no public jobs available.

I don't understand why I'm stuck at this particular one when there are a dozen other work servers that have literally thousands of GPU jobs each, according to server stats at https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats

The only way to work around this was to kill FAHClient.exe in Task Manager, wait a few minutes, then start the client again and hope that a different work server will be assigned eventually. But this stopped working too, as I'm being assigned to another server with no public jobs available, and then pinged back to the original work server. Then the client just keeps alternating between these two work servers that literally have no work shown by server stats.

So if the assignment servers are doing such a poor job of tracking the work server queue, can I just manually blacklist work servers that are stalled with no available work?

What is your cause preference? If it's anything other than "ANY" try setting it to that as your current preference may be low in work.

Also, at this time 209.200 is set to "Accept" so it's not currently assigning work.

Cause preference has always been set to "Any".

The servers keep assigning me to vav17.fah.temple.edu (129.32.209.200) which always fails to connect. BTW if I try to open the address in a web browser, it gives me ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT and so do all other *.temle.edu work servers; others in the stats list at least provide a start page that says "Folding@home Work Server Version 10.3.4" or ""Folding@home Assignment Server Version 5.0.14".
This server also always lists some low number of jobs available on the server stats page, like 6 or 8 jobs, but almost never a zero.

Sometimes the servers tell me that "No WU's are available for this configuration", then a few minutes later assign me to the same work server again, and this cycle can go on for hours.
Occasionally I would be assigned to another server like ds03.scs.illinois.edu (128.174.73.78) or pllwskifah1.mskcc.org (140.163.4.200) and I do get a few WUs done.
But then I'm back at the former work server and the cycle repeats again.

Besides these three work servers mentioned above, I never get assigned to other work servers though they have a much more Core 0x22 jobs available.

Cause preference has always been set to "Any".

The servers keep assigning me to vav17.fah.temple.edu (129.32.209.200) which always fails to connect. BTW if I try to open the address in a web browser, it gives me ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT and so do all other *.temle.edu work servers; others in the stats list at least provide a start page that says "Folding@home Work Server Version 10.3.4" or ""Folding@home Assignment Server Version 5.0.14".

This servers are available only via proxy or VPN from some countries, so try to use it.

I tried Proton VPN and indeed vav17.fah.temple.edu (129.32.209.200) starts responding and jobs are assigned more consistently, but there are too many annoying regressions, such as connection speed and response time, stuttering YouTube videos, or surprisingly large number of sites randomly blocking VPN access, including FoldingForum.org I would prefer to only redirect FAHClient and not encode all LAN traffic, but FAHClient does not support SOCKS proxy protocol, so the options are limited.

Without VPN, I'm currently being assigned benchmark tasks running on Core 0x23 viewtopic.php?p=361891#p361891


I conclude I can't be bothered to jump hoops around problems that should have been resolved on the server side. Call me back when Folding@home project implements better work management policies.

I can't speak for the rest, but as admin for the forum I can identify patterns of use of various VPNs by spammers. Some VPNs do a quick block of any spammers using their services, but for others I can see records of hundreds or thousands of spam reports for IP numbers and ranges belonging to certain VPN services. Those get blocked for a period of time while they are active, and that may get repeated if the operator of that VPN still does nothing bout heavy spam going through their servers.
