For example here is the opening bit from a spam post that arrived this morning:
The text of the spam message is written in rather broken Russian, very similar to poor machine translation. I do not exclude the possibility of disguising spammers from other locations in the world under the addresses of the Russian Federation.
Thanks for the feedback.
I have been supporting your project for a long time and would like to continue. In my understanding, preventing donating your computing resources is not productive for the project, but there are many additional factors that not everyone can influence.
I hope the situation improves.

I hope that comes, but the spammers are persistent from Russian sites.
Also, the Temple University website is not available to me, but when VPN is turned on, access is restored.
As a result, the situation with such a point blocking is not clear.
Hi! How did you solve the problem? I use VPN to get access to this servers too, but it makes troubles to get access to some other servers. I can't setup it right way
I use a VPN to download and upload. I connect from Italy. Without VPN now I have problems downloading too, not just uploading. But a while ago at least the download was working. But when do they solve this problem. It is incorrect that to do folding@home I have to pay for a VPN. At least someone can suggest if there is a free VPN that works.

Without VPN it's hard to download.
Say thanks to the Temple Uni community for their excellent spam filters. Only they have such problems.
In general, because of this attitude, I now forcibly avoid their addresses. Maybe later...
But it seems unlikely to me that I have problems connecting from Italy. I don't know if mine is also a spam problem.
But then I would have to change my adsl provider to get a new ip. It seems exaggerated to do folding@home, I'm happy with my provider. there is no other solution.

There is a reported general problem with slow connections to these servers, they have been asked to look into it. I know of reports from Belgium and France.
I see some spammer activity from Italian ISPs, but nothing like I see from some other countries. Not knowing which of the several IP numbers you have posted from represents you aDSL provider, can't comment further. As for VPN providers, they present themselves as providing near unfettered access. But some have very lax controls over who and how their VPN service is used, I see many regular spam attempts on the forum from VPN sources.
I am no longer using the VPN. My ip is this: 213.45.87.62
Joe_H help me to solve the problem.
There have never been such problems. I have been doing folding@home since 2000. Since Covid and the number of users who do folding@home has increased, there have been problems. Before the problems related to spam never existed. Not even problems with Russia.

I was going to buy VPS server in New York to solve this problem, but not sure this will help. There are VPS providers with very low cost (about 13$) per year, but it's need to buy a whole year. I'm not sure this will help, so I try to used three providers in Europe, but unsuccessfully. 2 have slow upload and download.
It seems like only some USA IP addresses got fast access, I tried to check there: https://ping-admin.com/free_test/result ... g1ti6.html
