Significantly low PPD only on Windows

Previously I was folding on GTX 750 ti. Now upgraded to 3060 Ti. I reinstalled drivers using GF Experience's clean install option. Uninstalled FAH including data. Installed again but I'm getting about 500,000 PPD instead of 3,000,000 and I only get base credit.

I tried to fold on Fedora on the same rig and got about 3m PPD just fine. I was able to get the same project (18601) on both OSs' so it shouldn't be related to the project. I've completed more than 13 WUs and things didn't get any better after my bonus key is activated.

Another thing is on Windows, despite low PPD and credit, completion time is not terribly long. It finishes WUs in 3 hours, just like on Linux on the same project.

I would double check your windows pass key entry and type it in from scratch rather than copy paste it. If overall times and frame times are the same between the two operating systems your points should be the same.

Base points for project 18601 are only 81,101. If you were getting any more than that then your passkey is working. It might be possible that the work units are not returning in a timely manner, but you would have to go into the logs and check.

If the frame times and overall time are the same then it's most likely not a driver problem with the GPU. In this case since you mentioned just getting base points it is most likely the pass key.

It fixed itself. It was indeed probably the passkey. Windows one is actually my roommate's PC. I just boot it with my own Linux drive with my own passkey. It's weird passkey activation took some time even though it was active on the bonus status website.

When I checked the log, previously these happened successively one time. But never again after more than 12 hours. But I'm still getting the same low PPD and only getting exactly the same base point again. My bonus looks active.

This one is a bit of a head scratcher to me. Hopefully somebody else can come along and figure out what the strange GPU identification message is, as well as why the pass key doesn't seem to be giving you bonus points.

Just for clarification though this is all taking place in the same machine correct? Only the boot operating system is changing?

This system doesn't look very stable, those errors indicates an issue that might be related to the storage device ... did you check it (mostly CPU/RAM/GPU/PSU) ?

These error messages only appeared one time. That system has been running for a month. Previously it was running 750 Ti so, PPD was low for that card anyway. And I was using my name and passkey on my roommate's Windows. After getting the new GPU, he got his own name and passkey.

All these were taking place on the same machine, yes. I just boot my own Linux drive on his system. However, it was my passkey. I will try to use my perfectly working passkey on his Windows again and I will use his passkey on my Linux to see if that is the problem.

The hardware seems fine, the only difference was my storage instead of his. But I performed a SMART test and it looks perfectly fine. Actually, I keep forgetting we're running on a VM. So, were are using the same rig, except we have our own GPU and SSD passed through.

It happened again with Windows again. So nothing wrong with the passkey either. And I think this happens when I reboot the PC. Not sure, I realised it after rebooting, but I didn't especially check it before rebooting. Something is wrong with Windows or the Windows version of FAHClient.

Last update for the record:
What breaks was a reboot all the time. I couldn't figure out what fixes it. It randomly goes back to normal in a few hours to a day.

Thankfully, my roommate switched to Linux now. No problem on Linux with the same hardware and passkey.
