v7.6.21 and iGPU folding?

Post by SAK917 »

I just upgraded to v7.6.21 and for the first time F@H is detecting the integrated GPU in my i9-9900K CPU, listing it in a folding slot as "gpu:0:2 Gen9p5/GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]" but status is "Disabled". I also saw this in my logs:

Code: Select all

20:18:34:FS01:Initialized folding slot 01: gpu:1:0 TU102 [GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Rev. A] M 13448
20:18:34:FS00:Initialized folding slot 00: cpu:8
20:18:34:WARNING:FS02:Guessing ambiguous GPU to OpenCL device mapping for 02: gpu:0:2 Gen9p5/GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]. Consider upgrading your graphics driver or manually setting ``opencl-index`` in this slot's configuration.
20:18:34:WARNING:FS02:Disabling beta GPU slot 02: gpu:0:2 Gen9p5/GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]. Beta GPUs can be tested for no points by setting ``gpu-beta=true`` in the configuration.
I did a quick search but didn't see anything about folding on Intel integrated GPUs being a thing now. I did find this post from a few weeks ago under the GPU Stopped Working thread:
bruce wrote:The Intel GPUs are not supported yet. They are being tested by a select group of beta testers and we're waiting for their reports. Please disable FAH from using the Iris 630. You can set "Pause-on-start" to "true" for that device or you can disable it in the BIOS.
Is this still in development and it leaked into the wild? Or can we start using the iGPU now?

Thanks

There are a number of other topics asking about this, the short of it s that F@h does not currently have a separate development system for running tests on new hardware and WUs. So, several of the Intel iGPUs are enabled for internal testers to use with WUs from existing projects. The client is set to not enable them otherwise.

When the internal testing s done and they have worked out any problems, then these iGPUs may get enabled for beta testing at first. No idea how long this will take.
