13.82.98.119 not taking my Wu

13.82.98.119 not taking my Wu

I finished a Wu hours ago but the server has been down so it couldn't receive. It just came back online and it now refusing my Wu. What do i do now? Here is my log if you need it.

Please note that the issue is known. In the meantime, just leave the client running and once the Server is back up, it will automatically accept the completed WU :)

Failed to upload 13.82.98.119

Been trying to upload for over 36hrs now:

Under these circumstances regrettably only patience will solve the issue … It should not be stopping or hindering your machine continuing to fold other WUs and it is likely that the team know there is an issue with load on this server (if not your post will help alert them to it) so if there is a bigger issue than just load they will be working on getting it resolved.

Same issue here. Posted about it over the weekend on another thread and someone said they were looking into it but that WU expired and now I have another failing. These take my GPU 7 to 10 hours to complete. That's a lot of time and energy wasted.
I get less than 0.1% uploaded before failing but if I VPN closer to the server it will hit 9% every time then fail.

The thread you mentioned was locked for the reasons explained - not because wasn't worth looking into and I'm sorry if you felt it was that way - it was conflating a number of issues and until it the issue with the server in question was resolved there wasn't really much point in debating and guessing as to what might be the reason or when it might be fixed.

This is a report for a different server … As with the other thread, all issues with individual servers are looked into by the team as quickly as possible - as delays impact folders, but even more so the researchers and delays the science so the team do try to get things sorted asap - but it takes time - especially if over a weekend (as was the last issue) … Reporting here on the Forums is a really good thing to do - but with the massive amount of effort in play just standing up new infrastructure and getting it all running nicely some of the issues are not able to be instantly fixed.

Where information is available that might inform people as to what is happening it will be shared - and members of the forums will try to assist in making sure that it is simply server overload or whether there are other issues such as configuration that might be causing the issues for any individual.

Thanks for the report ... Want to look into this as you are reporting IP's that don't match you log ... I'll repost in a few minutes.

From your log the WS is ... 05:13:00:WU00:FS01:Connecting to 13.82.98.119:8080 ... and then the client tries the CS ... 05:13:29:WU00:FS01:Connecting to 52.224.109.74:8080 ... so the IP you quote is the CS for WS 13.82.98.119 ... Looks like both are busy ... but this report will give someone the heads up to check them.

Not sure where you get the final IP you quote from - but I am not sure if it is relevant ... Another folder is having the same issue as you are, given this and that it looks like simple sever overload there is little you can do other than wait and hope the load reduces enough for you WUs to upload or that the team can tweak something and get a bit more out of the servers.

Got 3 now that wont upload. One is going to expire today and that will put me up to 3 that expired. They all have been large WU that take 7 to 10 hours to work. I'm not worried about points its just all these hours for nothing since they just expire when I could have done 4 or 5 normal size WU in the time it takes to do 1 of these and would have been accepted.

The FAULTY project WU will probably never upload, it is on the too large to be accepted at 273 MB. You may as well delete it, the WU has already been completed by someone else.

If you examine the log for when that WU was running, if you see a number of error reports, and crash reports in the log, there is a good chance that there is an issue with your GPU. That could be an excessive overclock, overheating, or something else along that line.

OK now I have another. What is the cutoff on size? Is that only on the faulty WU or all of them? They are coming to me at 124.80MiB and as far as I understand they are bigger after running.

I have only had a few failed WU since starting folding again a month or so ago. When there is a failed WU its always a massive one. It's so rare I chock it up to bad WU.


This one didnt fail and its 222 MB

The "massive" ones will push your GPU harder. So one that is stable enough to complete WUs from other projects, maybe with a recoverable error or two in the middle of processing, may fail to finish processing one of these.

As for size, I just happen to recognize this project and knew from prior reports that 270+ MB is carrying too many error reports in the upload package. The extra size just makes it a bit harder to get uploaded.
