Do I have to have a cpu slot ina gpu system?

Post by scm2000 »

I'm setting up a system with GPU's, and only have a 2 core celeron for the cpu.
Folding at home automatically sets up to use a cpu slot and a slot for each gpu.
Can I eliminate the CPU slot and still have the GPU slots work?

no, not at all. the software will automatically create one, but it's easy to remove it. I don't run any CPU clients but run 7 GPU clients.

I choose to run CPU slots but they are easy to get rid of.

In the taskbar to the lower right of the screen, you should see a F@H molecule icon, click it (you may need to click an Up Arrow to see it ^)

The second item in this menu is Advanced Control, click it

On this screen to the left is a Configure button, click it

Now you get a screen with a Slots tab, click it

On this white field should be a cpu item, click it and then click remove.
