Quadro 5000 GPU's

I saw 2 quadros 5000 cards for sale dirt cheap, ive searched to check how they performe but can't find any.
How do they performe in folding and do we put them in sli or not ?

That would depend on which quadro 5000 they were, Fermi.Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal or RTX? The model usually goes P5000 for example which would indicate a pascal based quadro 5000 which is a powerful card, a Kepler based 5000 - not so much.

If these are named exactly as Quadro 5000, those are based on Fermi, about the equivalent of a GTX 465 running at a slower clock. Still usable, but Kepler or newer would be recommended.

I have a Quadro P5000 here, and I get 82918 PPD (could get more, but I have manually set gpu-power=90 to avoid it totally sucking up my GUI performance)

If you go up one page from the passkey link Nathan_P linked you will get a description of the points system and the QRB qualification requirements - QRB has a very significant impact on points for faster machines.

Weird! I was pretty sure I saw more responsiveness from mostly-graphical apps (like web browsers) in my system when I changed it down from its default of 100. Placebo effect, perhaps... :-/

Thus, you can remove it from your configuration.

Does it cause any damage or problems being left there? Placebo effect is an effect nonetheless

Not really... I think I got it pretty much figured out now that you set me straight re: gpu-power. But thanks for the pointer!

I would think coincidence. Reason is that on some GPUs, large WUs can cause screen lag. It is possible that when you entered that flag, you got a smaller WU which didn't cause screen lag.

If you would like to minimize screens lag from your system while folding, I would suggest that you can disable hardware acceleration on your system and other applications. Here are some pointers to common applications:

Nope, anything that the FahCore (the code that does the folding) doesn't accept as a parameter (values passed to it) will be ignored.
