GPU not folding

Hi, first of all sorry if I miss something here, but I just joined Folding@home for the first time. Anyways, my problem is that my CPU is folding all fine but I'd also like to utilize my GPU but it won't start folding at all. On the advanced control panel in the work queue there's a download with the same ID as the GPU, but it won't even start the download.

Yes, the researchers went home Friday at 5 PM, Monday after 9 AM they should all be back to help start new Work Units. (Unless the school is on COVID-19 lock down) Note that there are many Universitys involved so 9 AM is a mobile target. Stanford is on Pacific time.

I'm having the same problem. My CPU folds pretty much nonstop but my GPU folds for a awhile, finishes, then sits there for hours doing nothing. I notice that while the GPU is idle it is the Collection and Work server with the IP addresses of 0.0.0.0, it has multiple attempts and it says its waiting on "WS Assignment". Is this normal behavior? I have another system with two GPU's in it and the GRP's are busy almost all the time but those GPU's are much less powerful than the one that is going idle so much.

Welcome to the F@H Forum mw7301,

It just means that the GPU is waiting on getting a WU assigned to it. Currently, the F@H Servers are under load (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=33193) so if you leave it as is, it will eventually be assigned WUs

Thanks for the response. Its just strange that I have two systems sitting side by side and one of them is getting GPU work units and the other is not.

Yeah agreed - CPU WUs are now fine, but the GPU stuff is just sitting idle most of the time. I didn't realise they ran on totally separate hardware or systems.

For the last 24 hours, I have managed to get a GPU WU within the first 10 attempts... that's a lot better than earlier in the week... however, now that I have mentioned it, I may have jinxed myself

Problem is they have cut down the number of Core 22 servers in favor or CPU folding. Had 9 servers doing Core 22 and had a problem getting work every now and then. It is currently at 6 servers and getting no work anymore.

I too am having issues getting GPU projects. My second rig hasn't had a project in over 24 hours even with restarting the client a few times to reset the timer. My primary rig has exceeded 10 attempts on a few occasions in the last few days as well.

It wasn't bad when there were beta core22 projects to fold, but they have all been moved to advanced or full FAH so not even my beta team membership is helping now. I just hope they can bring some extra infrastructure online soon, gonna have to turn my heater on here before too long!
