I've done an "express install" of FaH client, and rebooted my PC.
To try and get it running I've run firefox and gone to client dot foldingathome dot org
It tries to connect to my client, but just times out and comes up with this:
Your browser was unable to connect to a Folding@home client running on your computer.
1 Install the Folding@home client.
2 Make sure your Folding@home client is running.
3 Reload this page.
Step 1 is already done but I'm struggling with step 2. I've tried finding FAHClient.exe in my program files and double-clicking it, but that just makes a black window come up and then disappear.
Any idea what to do?

Fahcontrol should be tucked in in the sys tray, by the system clock. Little protein molecule sign. Right click that and select Advanced Control. Window should pop up with options to control everything
Webcontrol has been known to have few issues ever since Google and Mozilla decided to switch things up in their browser code

Thanks, I do use Firefox. I uninstalled because I couldn't get it to work. I'll reinstall on my admin account instead of my regular one, stick to Advanced Control, and see how it goes.

Okay after a few uninstalls and reinstalls, here's how it's going:
No matter which account I install FaH on, it only shows up in the system tray and task manager when I'm logged in and switch-user-ed as The Administrator.
Is there some way to get it to run when I just log in on my regular account?

Re: FaH client doesn't start when booting or logging in.
The installer prompts for admin rights and installs the software to the admin profile. If there are two different accounts on the Windows PC, it will put the desktop links and such into the admin's account, not the lower-level account.
