FaHClient 7.5.1 Installation problem on Windows 10

Post by riiice »

Hi guys,

I need some help or some advice.
I cant start folding, if the client is installed and running (FAHClient in Task-Manager) the Web-GUI will not connect, either the FAHControl panel - it stays orange - connecting inactive.

What I've done:
Reinstalled it for a couple times, with and without restarts and also as administrator, always with the recommended express installation.
Allowed the App manually in the firewall and on private/public network.
Restarted the client.
Updated Windows.
Updated my NVIDIA Driver.

I think I have problem at the installation or the initial startup.
If I run the setup I cant choose multiuser installation (maybe because I am the only user) after the installation is finished I dont get a prompt for the network question and even no website shows up for the small setup.

Here is my Log from the last installation:

Just to check, is that as far as the log file gets? Since you mentioned FAHcontrol was not connecting, I am assuming ou opened up the log file directly.

I don't see anything particularly off in the setup as far as it got as shown in the log except not detecting OpenCL or CUDA if you happen to have a nVidia card. For a newer GPU the client will not recognize it until it downloads the current GPUs.txt file, that recognition would come shortly after the last message shown in the log when configuration occurs.

For your video drivers, are you getting direct from AMD or nVIdia, or using the driver supplied by Windows Update? The one from Windows Update leaves out OpenCL support.

Hi, thanks for your replie.

I downloaded the latest driver from nVidia directly.
The log output is from the appdata folder of my user, I just copied it from there.
Also there is no config.xml only the sample one, seems to be right, because the config never shows up after the installation.

I will care about the CUDA or OpenCL problem later. First I want to get the Client run, even if its just use the CPU.

Do you have any ideas ?
Or need other informations ?
Should I try to telnet to 127.0.0.1 and the 7xxx port ?
Or do you have any guess on the firwall thing bit prompted ?
