FAH won't see second GPU card (Fixed)

Help!!

I had a PC quite happily running a GTX 960 card, then I added a GTX 970 card. Now FAH won't see the 960 card!

Logically I need to manually add a second GPU slot, but when Itry, it doesn't matter what figures I enter or where,all I get is a second -CPU slot. GPU-Z confirms the 960 card is idle.

So, what do I need to do to get FAH to see both cards??

Many Programs, (F@H included) do a much better job finding hardware during install than durng start up.

I would uninstall F@H and reinstall it.

If that does not work, post the first 100 lines of the log so we can make informed guesses.

It seems that FAH is seeing the card but not using it as there isn't a GPU slot for it. As I thought I need to add one somehow?

I have been folding with two GPUs for many years. The second GPU has a "dummy plug" in it simulating a basic 480x640 screen.

I am going to wildly speculate.

I bet you chose to retain your data, and, of course, the reason you are reinstalling is to NOT retain your data. If they ask, do not retain any data, so you get a an all new install.

Yes do this. Do worry if the system indicates the cards by the wrong names, just see 2 and all is well.

Ok guys, the second card is now seen. I re-installed FAH twice to no avail, so I tried just one more time erasing the program and a fresh install. The third time it worked, and both cards are now seen and running. All three uninstalls and reinstalls were the same but only one worked.

Nope,. no answer to it, other than FAH doesn't like different cards it prefers 2 or 3 of the same type. But happy to have ended up on the right side. Perseverance is the name of the game it seems

Glad to hear you got it working. I would imagine that for some reason the first 2 re-installs failed to remove config files. I guess it matters not as you are now folding on both cards
