Is Adrenalin 18.11.2 unstable F@H driver?

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

Is Adrenalin 18.11.2 unstable F@H driver?

Post by xystophyte »

Hello,

I recently installed Adrenalin Edition 18.11.2 In my experience, this was the most problematic Radeon driver version for my particular config, which caused GPU slots to fail repeatedly. I test new drivers in hopes of better performance, less heat/power consumption, blah blah. However, now I'm back to Adrenalin 18.9.3 which is a solid performer.

Has anyone found 18.11.2 to be troublesome? I would like to know if this is a common experience.

Also, which driver version works best for you?

Thanks

No issues here, been running that drivers since they was released. I did clean install however because I had issued with relive after update. Maybe if you try clean install too? However there is 18.12.1 out already and most likely soon will be released big update so maybe wait for that.

Hi, I'm still on Adrenalin 18.9.3. I suspected that there might be something about my config and Adrenalin 18.11.2 causing issues. I haven't found any users to have a similar problem with 18.11.2. Thanks for your reply.

I am running 18.11.2 with my MSI R9 380 without problems. I am not overclocking and I am running Windows 10 Pro.

AMD Radeon Adrenalin 2019 release is supposedly near release. I will attempt that driver with a clean install. I'm not anticipating any issues, but we will see.
