Been getting the following from my clients since about 03:00Z:

Using a browser to connect to the server shows no error.

As long as it is a single occurrence, you do not need to keep reporting these. The problem is known, and for the time being there is a restart of the AS set up to recover from this error and have it return to assigning WU's.

Do report if this keeps happening repeatedly over a short period of time. A manual intervention may be required then.

No, this is not an example of the AS being in trouble, no HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR messages. What is happening is that the AS's are not finding any Work Servers with WU's appropriate for your client setup, they then can not connect you to a WS to be assigned a WU. The wording is not the clearest, but that is the meaning of this series of messages.

If you would post the first 100 or so lines of your log file, that would give the information needed to determine what your configuration is and what type of WU's are unavailable. Or, if you used to only get assignments from 171.64.65.124, that WS is offline due to issues reported elsewhere.

Try setting the CPU slot to use 6 threads instead of the default of 7. There are CPU jobs that will assign to 7 threads, but with the one WS down they may be less available due to the competition for the remaining projects.

Also, setting the logging verbosity to 5 serves no purpose and actually makes troubleshooting much more difficult. Please return the setting to the default of 3.

1. Remove bigadv from your cpu configuration ... the minimum # of cores required for bigadv is 24
2. Change cpu:22 to cpu:20 ... 22 is bad because, other than itself, it can only be divided by 2 and 11 ... 11 is a high prime number which could result in errors

If, after the above changes, you continue to have trouble getting work another option is to make two cpu slots and configure one with cpu:12 and the other with cpu:8 (cpu:10 should work but some projects blacklist 10 so using it may reduce your chances of getting work) ... the cpu:12 and cpu:8 configuration will have a good chance of getting work.

You do not get WUs from an Assignment Server, you get an assignment to some Work Server that has Work for your system. The question is which work servers have work for your slot.

Looking back in your history, which project was last processed by that slot? Which Work Server downloaded that WU? What is the state of that WS or any other WS that might provide you with work?

The Assignment server can only assign you to a work server if it is operational and if it has WUs to be distributed and there's no easy way to figure out what WS that was except if it's in your history.

Cpu:22 is an awkward setting. The number of projects which can be processed by a CPU:22 slot is extremely small.
