Received 9704 (47, 8, 16) and currently at 16%. Estimated 11304 PPD, which is within the normal range for this card. Dragging the mouse does feel a bit sluggish but I can pause the GPU slot when needed._r2w_ben wrote:Based on ns/day, the system in p9704 must be about 10x more complex than the benchmark. It appears that the amount of work in-flight requiring completion before the 6850 can context switch and respond to the Windows heartbeat exceeds the default of 2 seconds. I am going to leave the timeout at 10 seconds and report back the next time the 6850 is assigned a Core 21 work unit.

You can try to disable Windows Aero to not use HW acceleration which might be in conflict with FAH.Dragging the mouse does feel a bit sluggish
Re: Core 21 not working on Radeon 6850
Hello everyone,
I want to report that setting the TDR registry key to a timeout of 10 seconds solved the problem for me, too.
Before this change the driver of my Radeon HD 6850 crashed as soon as 0x21 started folding. It ran nearly 2 weeks without an issue but started crashing a couple of days before. I don't know what windows update or driver update might have happened in the background. If I knew I wouldn't roll back ...
Regards,
Whiteish

Re: Core 21 not working on Radeon 6850
How do I configure the program to not accept these work units?

difrago, Pande Group determines the work unit assignments. There is already a discussion to limit the assignments.
What kind of hardware do you have that you want to limit?

My system is:
CPU: AMD FX-8150
GPU:ATI RADEON HD-6850
OS: WINDOWS 10 PRO (64bit).
The driver of gpu crashes with core 21. With core 17 no problem.

Re: Core 21 not working on Radeon 6850
Are you sure it's a driver problem that's limited to Core_21 but works for Core_17 and _18? What are the error messages?
Core_21 does a better job of using all the unused GPU resources so it's not unusual to uncover problems that were formerly hidden -- whether from Overclocking or Overheating or Power limitations.

A window appears bottom right on the screen, indicating that the video card driver stopped working and was reset successfully.bruce wrote:Are you sure it's a driver problem that's limited to Core_21 but works for Core_17 and _18? What are the error messages?

Finally I found the solution to the problem. Its timeout detection & recovery (TDR) problem.
KeyPath : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
KeyValue : TdrDelay
ValueType : REG_DWORD
ValueData : 10
The introduction of this value in the registry of windows, solves the problem. This solution has been reported by the user "Whiteish".
