The log section you provided showed failures running at SMP:10 for just these three WU's:

Project: 10139 (Run 5, Clone 4, Gen 11)

Project: 10139 (Run 58, Clone 2, Gen 4)

Project: 10138 (Run 38, Clone 2, Gen 8)

Do you have examples of any others failing and at settings other than 10? There are no other reports currently available in the database on these WU's, so whether it is the SMP setting or a bad WU can not yet be determined. These projects recently moved from Advanced, so it is possible some settings did not get fully tested.

its seems to be only on smp10/12 as soon as I change it to 8/12(I cant run 12/12 as im also running 3 gpu clients) it runs fine. here is a log of 10140:

These projects won't work with 5 either on three of my computers

So far two of the five WU's you have reported have failed for other folders. But we have no information on their folding setups to compare with yours. I will attempt to contact the project manager for these to see if he can detect a problem. In the meantime, please post the beginning section of your log that shows your system configuration and folding settings.

Best I can suggest at this point is to change your SMP setting from 10. A setting of 8 should work, and since you are just reducing the threads supported by HT the TPF should not increase as much.

The 80% success rate of your passkey is not currently in danger, but I do agree that using 8 would be a good idea.

It is running okay at 12/12, it just doesn't like 10/12 for some reason. maybe its because on 10/12 its using 5cores 5hyperthreads and it don't like odd numbers?

edit: my 920 and 3770k both are running 10139's fine on smp6/8

Right, I believe I have found the solution. But will post this here as information for any who are interested.

I am Running :
Folding@home Client 7.3.6
Win7 Pro 64bit
Xeon X5650 @ 4GHz SMP11 (fails no other WU than those listed below that I have ever noticed)
Asus 7950 Direct CUII TOP

Now with this new client auto setting -1 and therefor SMP11 and having read some comments about its release streamlining installation and I believe SMP use to GPU installed etc
...I was trusting this new 7.3.6 client to take/(work with) only WU's that were happy with an odd number of SMP cores and being a prime number at that.

I have failed 10 of the following WU's in the last 10 hours and worried I might well lose my QRB unluckily during this years Chimp Challenge, so of course had a closer look.

The WU's in Question insta-fail every time:

I had noticed one or two these on rare occasions before and had put it down to a new WU recently released having teething problems.
Today I just had a non-stop string of these, causing my SMP folding to cease as Failed.

Obviously I am left with the conclusion that this newer 7.3.6 client has not been coded to fix this issue meaning anyone running with default settings could be failing all such odd/prime number sensitive WU's.
Other experienced long time folders from my home OCF forum confirmed this suspicion.
Now having restarted running SMP10 I just have to wait to receive another of these number sensitive WU's to be 100% sure.

That and hope I did not lose my QRB in the last days of Chimp Challenge!

I am afraid it fails on SMP 10 as well - Must go down to SMP 8 if you want it to work it appears. Hopefully they will restrict the client soon.
