Hey guys,
I have an Intel i5 z77 computer with 16GB DDR3 memory. I have to pause Folding while I use my computer. The computer lags badly while surfing, playing games or just moving the mouse, when folding is active. If this is GPU related, I have a Nvidia Geforce 550ti. I fold all night and pause during the day

Re: Folding slows fast computer down...
Yes it is GPU related. The video subsystem in Windows has never had any tools for resource competition. Until There is some form of priority system for GPU's there will be lag.
Try pausing just the GPU slot (Rt. click on the GPU slot) during the day while allowing the SMP slot to run continuously and see if that helps.

Where can I find the GPU slot to right-click on?
Thanks for your help

The slots are listed in the middle of FAHControl. You may need to switch from Novice mode to Advanced mode in the upper left hand corner.
The Development team of the Pande Group is aware of the lag that the GPU can introduce. It's not clear if it's something they can fix, but they're going to try.

Okay Bruce,
I got it, and pausing the GPU slot helps the lagging...
Thanks again
