ATI RADEON HD6870 PROBLEM

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

ATI RADEON HD6870 PROBLEM

Folding@home don't work with my graphic card.

My card is in whitelist as: 0x1002:0x6738:1:4:Barts XT [ATI Radeon HD 6800 Series]

Errors look like this:

Also, what version of the Catalyst drivers do you have installed? Not all versions are known to be stable for folding.

It's the last one: Catalyst 12.8
But have same problem with the Catalyst 12.6

Problems have been reported with the drivers starting with 12.4, though there is a report of 12.6 working with a different ATI card. Make certain OpenCL support is installed by the driver package. If you can, try a driver earlier than 12.4. The last time I had a system set up with GPU folding earlier this year, the 11.10 driver worked fine with a ATI 5870.

I have installed intel_sdk_for_ocl_applications_2012_x64_setup.exe from here: http://software.intel.com/en-us/vcsourc ... opencl-sdk

and it's look like working fine with Catalyst 12.8

After using the intel-sdk for a week can you confirm that the GPU is actually doing the work? i.e. is the GPU showing a high percentage(90-99%) of usage or is the CPU somehow being used to process the work units?

Was there something else you did around the same time that you installed the intel-sdk?

We are trying to determine how and why installing the intel-sdk got things working for you.
