Re: Active Processors
If youre using systrays it's in the config tab. If its console, you'll have to run the -config and set it when asked.
To easily find the id on a console, read the fahlog. Its at the very top right after you initially run the client, undser your username.

Re: Active Processors
I went into the config file and opened it with notpad, I changed the machineId (they were all the same) and saved. That should take care of it right?

Re: Active Processors
Um, not quite. The config file is not supposed to be edited via Notepad (the line breaks get corrupted). You may now been contributing as Anonymous. Stop the client and observe the startup log segment to see if your donor information is still being read correctly.

Re: Active Processors
Yes, except you risk corrupting the client.cfg file by using notepad to edit those files. That is not a simple text file, it is a unix file. If corrupted, the client will make a new client.cfg file with default settings, like putting the machine ID back to 1, causing you to duplicate work, and not get credit.
Better to always run the client with a -configonly or -config switch to change client options. Or use the Systray client with a GUI setup window.

Re: Active Processors
I've been wondering the same thing on active processors. I have three WU's running on two computers. Folding@home shows Active processors (within 50 days) = 6 and Active processors (within 7 days) = 5. I have been folding on these three CPU's for well over 50 days and have done nothing to cause a change of CPUID (User ID + Machine ID).
In the logs below you will see a "Previous termination of core was improper."; that was due to a recent power outage.

Re: Active Processors
I do not understand how this has helped in any way. In your original post, you said:tank1023 wrote:Okay, I started over and changed all my machine ID's. Its now showing 10 processors. Thank you all for your responses.
If you changed all of your Machine ID's, and all of those clients have successfully uploaded a result, then you should have 10 NEW clients registered plus any clients that submitted a result with the old Machine ID within the last XX days. Does that mean that absolutely no results were uploaded from the old Machine IDs within the past 7 days?tank1023 wrote:When I check my stats on this site it states I have had 17 active processors in the last 50 days and 6 active within the last 7 days.
I have 10 clients running all the time and my numbers never added up to the ones on this site. I'm running 3 Vmware clients, 3-275's and 4-9600gso's. I've check my user name and team number to make sure they are set up right, and they are. FahMon says i should be getting 40k a day with this set up but I have only been getting 25-27k a day. Any one have any ideas? Thanks!
