Why not support Intel Gen 7 GPUs?
There are a lot of Gen7 iGPUs. If you restrict them to small projects, they should be good to go.

Re: Just how old is thAT DOG...
Just because it's published in scientificamerican doesn't make it science, nor does it have anything to do with supporting FAH.

Re: AMD Polaris GPU
IMHO, having read most of the reddit discussion, this might be the straw that broke AMD's back (if they hadn't already been on a losing trend vs. NVidia).
I'm in favor of healthy competition, but fixing this issue may bankrupt AMD.

Re: Best Systems?
Disk cleanup plus disk Defrag might improve your boot time. It's usually not significant for FAH.

Removing the Advanced client-type setting should allow you to opt-out if corex21 until it gets fixed.Calcii wrote:The conclusion from what has been said: x21 core need finalization, and i was surprised then core 21 go to advanced so fast

Does it help an SSD if you delete unused files (Disk Cleanup) and then Defrag?

My Samsung tablet is still being told by google_play that it's incompatible with my hardware. Should I complain to Sony or to Samsung?

Re: Announcement: Introducing FAHControl for Android
Well, the Android device I'd like to use is a Samsung tablet. It's always within WiFi range, so logically, I should be able to use it. I tried installing it from the browser on the tablet and it said the device had no carrier. :( Just for kicks I went back to Windows and it said it could install it ...

Re: Announcement: Introducing FAHControl for Android
Opening the URL to read about the google play app on WIndows says "This app is compatible with your device."
Somehow I suspect it's NOT compatible with Windows 7.

Re: Back to folding again
If your computer only operates a few hours per day and gets re-imaged as you suggest, it's not going to be able to contribute to FAH using the traditional client. Most of Stanford's projects are too demanding. Please consider running the NaCl client. It runs only short, less demanding jobs from insi...

Project 7623 says it is OPENMMGPU which is Core_15, so there is no Quick Return Bonus.jimerickson wrote:if it is core_15 there is no qrb.

I got both those numbers from Wikipedia, so I know you can find a chart that shows them.
GFLOPs does not provide an exact indication of F@H performance but it does provide a reasonable indication.

Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
The NVidia 8000 series are too weak. The Pande Group announced plans to discontinue that type of hardware and projects that will run on them are very rare or nonexistent. I upgraded to a 750 Ti, skipping several generations, and I am very happy.
