Ah, silly me. I found my own answer.

Once [Pause] is clicked, it brings up a choice of [Pause now] or [Finish up, then pause].

I have the same issue with my AMD Radeon Pro WX-2100, for what is now 2-3 days. But if the mentioned "reranking" process means I won't be assigned a job that my GPU cannot possibly do by deadline (which is a waste of time, effort, and energy for us and F@H), I shall be patient. CPU's still...

Quick addendum- The size of the assigned job isn't the issue, it is the points per day pace that job is asking of the GPU in order to complete it on time.
