Re: 4437
I noticed I've gotten a few of these new 44xx WUs recently on my lone CPU client. I also have noticed that FAHMON 2.3.2 reports WU credit as unknown for several if not all of these... So I thought I'd search the forum to see if someone had determined what credit ws granted when the WU was returned. ...

Re: Configurable affinity changer for Windows
Props to Baobab! WinAFC is an amazing tool. I recently came across WinAFC after fumbling around trying to find optimum settings on a newly upgraded box: Q6600 w/2 8800GS (swapped out P4 for quad) now running 2x Notfred VM appliances in addition to GPUs (vista 32bit). I concur with ExtraSalty, that i...

Re: Best way to Cool off your folding farm?
In extreme cases, a window air conditioning unit may be the only practical solution, especially in extreme climates. I agree but I wouldn't consider Kansas to be an extreme climate, but rather an "extremes" climate. as in we get both extremes... I had cooling issues until I installed a wi...

Running SMP on a virtual linux machine (or the Notfred CD) through VMware takes care of that problem, doesn't it?bruce wrote: If your SMP machine tells the server that you have 4-cores, the server will not know that you've only got two of them available.

Re: Folding@home points system IS UNFAIR!
I'm impressed by the kindness and patience thats been displayed by almost everyone who's weighed in to try and help this joker. I suspect imzjustplayin's just trying to be as annoying as possible to see how much the Mods will tolerate before closing the thread or banning him/her. It isn't too hard t...

imzjustplayin: Dude. Stop it. You gotta be trolling, right? No one could be so thick. In case this is not a joke... Please heed the advice of the various sages who have offered you explanations. Read through the various links provided & fight the urge to continue with your replies. You've left t...

Re: Benchmarks for SMP In XP32, XP64, Vista, Linux, etc. ?
There are quite a few benchmark numbers out of FahMon posted to compare ppd output on the thread listed below. I posted some benchmark data of same series WUs performance on same hardware at same settings (for a couple of different CPUs), & see a consistent 15-20% improvement when using the Notf...

No apology necessary. You folks no doubt answer the same questions over and over and over again... I can see how that could tend to put one on edge. Thanks for taking time to try & answer everyone's random questions every day. Please don't ruin my credit. I couldn't -- and wouldn't. I was just g...

Re: Project: 2652 (Run 0, Clone 573, Gen 37) [NaN error]
I apologize if I came off the wrong way, but the forum does not have a thread addressing this subject. I prefer trying to find answers for myself to avoid looking like a complete noob but didn't find a good answer to this. Its all good and well that this was discussed this to death on the old forum,...

Re: Project: 2652 (Run 0, Clone 573, Gen 37) [NaN error]
Thanks Don. I appreciate your comments although I respectfully disagree. There are really two separate issues here. I can accept that my PC config (i.e. overclocked RAM or CPU) may have caused this problem. I don't accept, however, that it's because of running two SMP clients. I can (and did) back o...

Greetings all. I got three consecutive EUEs on this one, though not always at the same spot. This machine is a Q6600 G0 running @ 3.2GHz on Abit IP35-V w/Hyper TX2 cpu cooler. Temps are < 60C on all cores. After the first EUE, I lowered from 3.3 to 3.2 GHz & bumped up Vcore a bit. Memory now @ 7...
