Re: MY compu seems to freeze
Yeroon - thank you very much for your contribution. i d/l the y-cruncher and figured out how to run it - a little - but i really don't know what inputs i should give it. The other one, the ryzen_smu says that it's a kernel something-or-other and from what little i know about the inner workings of L...

y-cruncher http://www.numberworld.org/y-cruncher/ Its run from a terminal at the folder it is located. https://gitlab.com/leogx9r/ryzen_smu Not familiar with your version of linux as to the correct install procedure, but there are instructions on the page. Shows clocks, temps, voltages, power use fo...

Re: MY compu seems to freeze
Have you ran any programs to verify system stability under loads that arent FAH? I'm fond of y-cruncher, simple cli options and can really push the hardware. It also shows the balance of what is being tested between cpu/ram, so if you fail a test, its easier to pinpoint any possible causes. For moni...

Re: Folding on AMD Radeon 8610G- Driver Problems
Well, Richland was a respin of Trinity (minor clock/power fixes) with the same gpu, so my understanding of how this works is all the richland ids would be the same species as their trinity counterparts. A few other id naming errors as far as my research goes: 0x1002:0x990c:1:2:Oland [Radeon HD 8670D...

Re: Folding on AMD Radeon 8610G- Driver Problems
As far as I know, your Radeon 8610G should not be listed as supported for folding. Is is from a generation of integrated GPUs as part of APUs sold by AMD that did not include support for doing double precision calculations (FP64). In addition AMD has limited full OpenCL support in newer drivers to ...

Re: Ubuntu 20.04, Python 3
It should be possible to add the necessary python2 packages to make fahcontrol work on 20.04, as that is what I am currently running a variant of (linux lite 5), and have a functional fahcontrol. https://linuxconfig.org/install-python- ... ossa-linux Not sure thats what I did, but you can give it a ...

Re: Your thoughts....
From AMD's CDNA whitepaper in reference to the FMA32 vs FP32, I think my previous numbers were switched (FP32 @ 23.1Tflops should be correct). Anyways, this is the best I could find in there about FMA32: As Figure 5 illustrates, the CUs are augmented with new matrix engines to handle the MFMA instru...

Re: Your thoughts....
They possibly could do it, but at 23Tflops; which is a bit slower than a 2080Ti; AND it does it at 300W, vs the 2080Ti 275W (which can be lowered to 190W and still be faster). I wouldn't buy this, if it was just for folding. However, if you have the hardware, I see no reason why it wouldn't fold. A...

Re: 16926 - Some sort of loops with this CPU WU
You should be able to do it through the gui file manager. I dont recall any permissions issues but there is always sudo if needed. WU locations on a default installation (at least how mine is) at /var/lib/fahclient/work/ Find your offending WU number, delete or remove to another location, restart sa...

Re: 13429 low ppd on fiji XT
I was fine with doing them on my 470's, which I still have both in that system. My guess is there are not enough low CU gpus available for the amount of WU that need completion?

Re: 13429 low ppd on fiji XT
I had a very well timed WU completion to let me swap out the nano for another 470, so I just did that for now. GPU useage is ~50% power compared to higher atom count WU, ppd seems to be in that drop as well for the 470s (with new base points) I'm fine with doing these low ppd high priority wu on the...

13429 low ppd on fiji XT
Of the two 13429 wu that I witnessed running on my Fury Nano, both have been ~1/6th of its normal ppd. Current TPF ~1min04s, est ppd 127k. Normally in the 600k-800K range. rx470 in the same comp, doing another 13429 at ~215k ppd. Looking it up it seems to have a really low atom count, which seems od...
