Re: Core 22 version 0.0.14 issue
Daft suggestion but if it would continue to help get results leaving this on beta flag might work? ... I would most beta team members would be able to sort out the dll issues and the lack of cuda on the rtx30*0 and depressed opencl ppds (still as good as the other ppds out there at the moment) shou...

Re: Recommendations on used cards for Folding
It seems that the RTX 2060/KO is the way to go for the price. After looking at your responses and checking out the various spreadsheets/databases that were linked, it appears that it is the best performing out of the cards in the budget specified! Don't rule out the GT 10xx or GTX 16xx series, which...

Recommendations on used cards for Folding
So, I am tempted to add a 3rd card to my arsenal and have been looking at the used market. I would like to have something that can hit 1m PPD (even if not daily) without exceeding $300. These are the cards that seem to be in budget: Vega 56 Vega 64 GTX 1070 Ti GTX 1080 GTX 1660 Ti RTX 2060 KO I know...

Re: Client Randomly Getting Stuck On "Connecting to"
I have updated to the latest release and will continue to monitor! So i noticed that every single attempt to connect to the servers was met with the message about receiving a short response. After several hours of that, I tried to uninstall and reinstall; same thing. Rebooted; same thing. Did some ...

Re: Client Randomly Getting Stuck On "Connecting to"
Can you please: 1) Use verbosity level 3 since 5 makes it very difficult to read and troubleshoot. 2) Considered upgrading to V7.6.9 which is the next stable version: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=34466 Ah, yeah I have dropped it back to 3. I initially did that when I enabled all of the debugging flags,...

Re: Client Randomly Getting Stuck On "Connecting to"
Thank you, PantherX! Funnily enough, I got this to happen again immediately after restarting the client. Below is the full log (paused at the end to add a new timestamp). Is there anything I can do with debugging on my end to try and figure out what is going on? I can run ProcMon and capture logs if...

Client Randomly Getting Stuck On "Connecting to"
I've noticed an odd behavior that I need some insight on. I have a Windows 8.1 machine running a GTX 980 Ti and randomly the client will get stuck on "Connecting to" some server and never times out, gets an assignment, or gets a WU. I have seen it happen with an assignment server and a few...

Re: Does OpenMM take full advantage of rDNA for Navi GPUs?
Currently with the available projects, the average atoms count is 105k. However i think that WUs with less atoms are distributed more often as those WUs are completed faster. In my experience, it isn't the atom count alone that determines how fast a WU will complete on a given GPU but rather a comb...

Re: Does OpenMM take full advantage of rDNA for Navi GPUs?
Well I can certainly chime in here! Take a look at the spreadsheet in my sig. I have been tracking hundreds of projects completed with my 5700 XT at various frequencies. As you might expect, as the atom count goes up, so does the average PPD! So far the most I have achieved with my card overclocked ...

Re: GPU not folding
I too am having issues getting GPU projects. My second rig hasn't had a project in over 24 hours even with restarting the client a few times to reset the timer. My primary rig has exceeded 10 attempts on a few occasions in the last few days as well. It wasn't bad when there were beta core22 projects...

Re: 5700XT: fans don't start even at over 100C
Go in to the Radeon Driver and manually set the fan to 60% or so. Ive seen this kind of behavior under Linux as well as it seems it is a "feature" of the AMD Drivers to sporadically either mis report the fan speeds or the fan control algorithm to go a little crazy. Hmm, I wonder if it is ...

Re: Top CPUs for Folding@Home
280w is insane. I thought the old AMD X2 3400 was hot, but 280w is insanity level. What sort of cooling solution do you need to keep temps below 40C? 40C? You don't under any full load, in fact you just don't with any modern retail CPU. Unless you are doing sub-ambient cooling, even the best waterc...

Re: RX 5500XT or GTX1660 ?
Okay I've gone with a budget Inno3D GTX1660 Twin X2 for around $170. It's a no-frills card, but does the job very well. For anyone looking to get one, depending on the project I'm getting anywhere between 480k-630k PPD, mostly around 550k. GPU-Z says power consumption is around 100W. Max GPU temp I...

Signature Randomly Missing from Post/Replies
So I have noticed an odd behavior that I can't wrap my head around and it's that my signature is randomly missing on various post and replies. After looking through the post/replies from other users, I have seen the same behavior for all of them. For me, sometimes my sig shows up just fine when firs...
