Re: 16926 - Some sort of loops with this CPU WU
Sort of odd. Half the boxes allowed me to just delete the work folder from the gui, the others needed to be removed from terminal. There was no "open as administrator" option from the right click menu. "sudo rm -r 02" and then my password worked from the command line. Linux conti...

Re: 16926 - Some sort of loops with this CPU WU
Linux noob here. Can some tell me how to dump a work unit in Linux? I'm on Ubuntu 18.04. My googling did not return anything helpful.
Do I delete the core or the work?
How do get around not having permission to rm?

CPU WUs - Linux [INTERRUPTED]
All of my CPU slots on Linux boxes have been idle since the middle of yesterday (Monday, Nov 30). They all are trying to reach 129.32.209.204. Some, depending on when they finished their last WU, have been down over a day an a half. Also, the attempt behavior is different than usual. Instead of incr...

Intel HD530 folding slot questions
My Integrated Intel HD530 graphics started showing up as a GPU slot about a month ago. Searching through some of the forum entries, it looks like that GPU might have been added for testing. It's odd that went to non-beta users. Is there more information on if that test is working and if the Intel sl...

Re: Cores vs threads, which get used first when setting up s
Might be worth checking intel site for the Tjmax temp for the CPUs in your server … For enterprise grade servers, under reasonably consistent high CPU load Xeons will be "safe" (or as safe as anything ever is) even just a few degrees below Tjmax is where most FRU/SDR/BMC setups will balan...

Fair enough. Thanks.

Good to know. I will check those out.scerbera wrote:Try 2 free programs, throttle stop and t throttle. T throttle you can set a max temp, and once it reaches that it throttles down to let it cool. throttle stop lets you adjust the multiplier very easily which will also reduce temps.

Cores vs threads, which get used first when setting up slots
As I add cores in a slot, in what order does either the client or Windows apply them? In a 4 core, hyperthreaded CPU, are 1, 2, 3, and 4 cores and 5, 6, 7, and 8 threads? Or do they alternate? I have a box that just runs hot. I've cleaned up the heatsink, applied new thermal compound, but it maxes o...

Re: What thread count to put on CPU
So what's the best course of action with a 4 core/8 thread CPU. Mine seem to select 7 threads on their own, but that sounds like a bad idea. Is six better and just leave one idle? 2 slots with 3/4? 6/1? Just leave it at the default setting unless overheating or you are on Windows and need to leave ...

Any word on this issue? I have a couple clients sitting on multiple WUs. Some with 3.
