Re: Cant Update Core 22
My system today experienced the same problem, in that the Work Queue status showed "Update_Core" but the Progress indicator showed 0.00. The log showed this: "Core_00.fah 21:09:12:WU00:FS01:Connecting to cores.foldingathome.org:80 21:09:12:ERROR:WU00:FS01:Exception: FahCore package ha...

Re: MacOS GPU
Disclosure: I'm fluent with Windows and decent with Linux, but don't know much about any Apple OSes.
Can't you just throw in a second hard drive/SSD, install Linux or Windows under Bootcamp and boot to one of those? Or does your machine need to stay up in MacOS?

Re: Slow uploads to 140.163.4.241
Yes, this server and 140.163.4.241 seemed to be overloaded. I've got six GPU slots; off and one they are showing the errors others have posted here and in the ~.231 thread. On another topic, but related, thanks for the Covid-19/Covid projects! Rock on!

Re: Folding Coin disappearing
@SteveWillis, my sentiments are similar to yours. I've been folding since 2001, with only an 18-month break for dabbling in BOINC. I have supported Folding for a decade and a half without any compensation whatsoever. If I were to magically recoup all the money I've spent on computer parts and electr...

Re: "BAD_WORK_UNIT (114 = 0x72)" Error
Bruce, I had the same endless "Ready" issues with GPU folding following a clean installation of 397.31 AND 397.64 (haven't tried 397.55). The only solution for me was reinstall Nvidia 391.35 drivers, which always worked properly. Following that, I installed 397.64 WITHOUT clean install. It...

Re: Latest Nvidia driver giving me problems (can't reproduce
@Joe_H - Nvidia drivers 397.31 and 397.64 :ewink: The fix for me was to update to 397.64 WITHOUT a clean installation. Strange, that the best practice of clean install was not appropriate this time. @foldy I have problems with latest MSI Afterburner 4.5.0 with nvidia 397.xx freezing my PC for severa...

Re: Latest Nvidia driver giving me problems (can't reproduce
Yes Bruce, I know that PhysX is not needed for Folding. My point was merely to be precise concerning the circumstances of the inability to start Folding work units. Both sets of 397.xx drivers from Nvidia I downloaded directly from Nvidia's drivers pages. The Nivida - Folding "Ready" issue...

Re: Latest Nvidia driver giving me problems (can't reproduce
Now, my CPU will fold but both of my GPU's show "ready". Yes, same experience for me, Nvidia drivers 397.31 and 397.64 on three platforms, all: - dual Nvidia GPUs - Windows 10 Pro 1803 - Nvidia drivers 397.31 and 397.64 Installation of both subject drivers was Custom - Physx and graphics ...

Re: WUs not beint sent in
Same problem. I'm fairly sure this is associated with the problems Stanford Folding servers are experiencing presently. I've been folding for 15 years and have never seen completed WUs sitting for so long without sending. I'm sure Pande Lab/Stanford doesn't enjoy this any more than we, the donors do...

Re: Folding Server
Strongwolf, here are some suggestions for you, to monitor and control all Folding computers from a central point: - HFM.net to monitor Folding on all boxes simultaneously, in one user-friendly window (install on the computer that will be the monitoring station) - TeamViewer (free) version to control...

Fair assessment. That is exactly why so many of us don't bother with setting up CPU slots.

Re: Guidance for building a folding dedicated computer
Thanks, Foldy. I've never tried adjusting power downward, at least not for Folding. I may just give that a try this weekend and see how it shakes out.
