Re: Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
Nope, that system was built from the ground up as a Win 10. I did not upgrade any of my old Win 7 rigs. In case it comes up in other places I am using the 64bit full version. I could not pay for an OEM key that would be tied to the same MOBO/CPU combo forever more.

Re: Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
It's a bit radical ... it should have worked with a simpler solution ... anyway, glad it's working now ! :) Agreed for a system with a different usage profile I would have futzed with it more to fix the issue rather than just wiping and starting over. In this case... much faster to just nuke it, an...

Re: Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
OK, did a full remove of the driver, and reinstalled. Still getting bad work units. The GPU temp never got above 30C. I did notice something strange, when I open GPU-Z the OpenCL box is not checked... don't I need that for FAH? I am unsure how to troubleshoot this further other than just re-installi...

Re: Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
Yes, first thing I would try here is to reinstall drivers after a fresh download from NV ... Will try a re-install of the driver. I may also just nuke and pave the OS to be absolutely sure its not a factor. This is my media pc so its not super important (who am I kidding, it sits in the living room...

Re: Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
Bad WU usually means overclocked. But it can also be an indication that the GPU is running hot. Check the GPU temps and if it’s hot try running with the side off the case. If your 8600K is overclocked you might want to try turning that back to stock. I’ve been running a 2700 for a couple of weeks n...

You can also get them at your local computer store or order them on-line.
Does your power supply provide 2 different 12v supply circuits or is there only one (combined)?
There is two CPU/PCIE connectors on the PSU, its a Seasonic focus Gold

Re: Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
Thank you for taking the time to answer. I have set the card to factory default and I am still getting bad work units. The PSU "should" be more than enough its a 750w; however, I am running the 8pin and the 6 pin from the same cable. Should I use separate ones? I don't have a spare that I ...

Failed Slot with a new RTX 2070
Hello All, looking for a little help here. I just put a GPU into a rig that did not have one previously. I uninstalled FAH, and re-installed after the hardware install GPU driver is up to date. The slot fails almost as fast as I can get advanced control open. The log reports a bunch of bad work unit...

GPU memory Folding performance question
Now that GPU prices are starting to come down I am thinking about adding another GPU to the farm. Is there any benefit to getting a 1060 6GB over a 1060 3GB, and if there is would it running on a 8x PCIE connection vs. a 16x connection matter?

Re: Haveing trouble downloading the client
Still not getting in, this is a brand new OS install, no updates or browser plugins etc. Wonder if its some dependency on that front. Is there any other place to get the client from?

Low PPD on project 13111
Hello, I am wondering if the low PPD I am seeing whenever I pull a project 13111 WU is normal, or is there something I could be doing to have those units crunch better. The GPU in question is a 7850, and is NOT overclocked below is a snippit of the log so you can see how things are set up. Let me kn...

Re: Exception: 10002?
Other main rig finshed up, and here we go again... The cleaner shut down of the system let it start a new work unit... but something is preventing a second consecutive CPU unit from being pulled down. 17:21:21:WU00:FS02:0xa4:Completed 247500 out of 250000 steps (99%) 17:21:22:WU01:FS02:Connecting to...

Re: Exception: 10002?
No client system changes have been made; however, I did move away from a cable modem/router to a split hardware solution recently. The systems seemed to fold just fine in the first few days of the upgrade, but still could be related. Two other strange things if this is a network security issue... on...
