Re: Project: 7004 (Run 1, Clone 235, Gen 0): Incorrect Point

In a situation such as this, when a unit is submitted and hasn't received any bonus points, will the donor receive the bonus points they should have got at a later date or will it just be the base credit for the unit? I was just curious as to whether or not you guys had a way of backtracking?

Re: 171.67.108.25 Not Accepting

Re: 171.67.108.25 Not Accepting

Seems to be working now guys! Don't know if you'd already seen or not but the server stats say it's back up.

Re: 171.67.108.25 Not Accepting

I don't know if you've seen this thread: http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=19032 . It's for the same server and seems that someone will be taking care of it when people get to work. I believe that it's still very early at Stanford so we'll be waiting another hour or more before someon...

Re: 171.67.108.25 Not Accepting

Sorry, I was rather lazy there, it's easy to find with a quick google. Thanks anyway!

Hopefully it comes back to life soon! I know that it's not all about the points but my bonus points are floating away!

Re: 171.67.108.25 Not Accepting

What is the URL for the server status page? I'm also suffering from the same issue on this occasion.

Re: 171.64.65.54 - DOWN

Same problem. Glad to hear it'll be sorted though! I was worried I'd managed to mess something up at my end!

Re: 7611 very slow

Okay thank you very much for the help! After all this I'm now going to try and move over to a VM with linux to fold in.

The help is greatly appreciated!

Re: 7611 very slow

I do just about understand how hyperthreading works, my main confusion was as to why SMP 6 with a GPU slot running as well is folding faster than SMP 8 on its own? In this case surely with SMP 6 it would effectively have access to 3 cores with one core left to deal with the GPU slot and anything els...

Re: 7611 very slow

So I've had the chance to get a few rough bits of information for different SMP numbers. These are all for project 7611 WUs. SMP 6 - 7mins 20secs SMP 7 - 7mins 40secs SMP 8 - 8mins 30secs These are all recorded with a GPU folding slot running at the same time. Which obviously lowers the TPF quite dr...

Re: 7611 very slow

I'm really sorry Bruce. I seem to have managed to completely miss that last paragraph of your post. I don't mean to be ignorant - it just seems to come naturally :P Regarding your question though: It is completely dependent on which program I use to measure the CPU usage. I use Real Temp to record t...

Re: 7611 very slow

I have an nvidia GPU and i know they aren't too bad with regards to CPU usage when folding. SMP 7 seemed to be perfect on the old client but I suppose I'll have to make the decision between 6 and 8. I'll test it over the next couple of days and find what the optimum setting is. The one question I ha...

Re: 7611 very slow

Okay, I will let you know, although obviously this could be a long process as I only fold for around 16 hours a day and when each 7611 work unit is taking about 13 hours it'll be a few days. I will however keep you informed. I've got myself a project 7610 unit currently though and this is running a ...

Re: 7611 very slow

You see at the moment, I have it set to SMP 7, it's what I used with the v6 clients and it ran a lot quicker than both SMP 6 or SMP 8 by quite a margin. Obviously in v7 there is not the option to add SMP 7 but if you type your own value into the SMP number then it is possible for it to run as an SMP...

Re: 7611 very slow

As I posted this it seems that resource monitor seems to have settled out now and is now showing 6 cores at full load and just the 6th core varying between 100% and now about 90% utilisation and then the 7th core at low usage due to running a GPU slot too.

Thanks
