Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)

Unfortunately, the developer of FAHMon has been quiet for awhile so we don't know when or if it will ever support this. The last update to the SVN was 2 months ago. Also no updates on open defect tickets in about the same time frame. Until Andrew has time to update the application, you will need to...

Re: Major new contributor: raver

Looks like it is a New Team with One Person. It is kinda odd to see something like this.

I am sure Dr Pande & the Admins here will look into this.

Re: Venting my spleen

The posts above are correct that the large growth is responsible for slower updates. That is very positive thing. Having so many users running Folding@Home allow your team to get a lot more done. I hope the project will continue to grow and even more can be accomplished. Plus, new servers are alway...

Re: Do Laptops Get Too Hot?

My Dell Vostro 1500 runs 2 x uniprocessors clients and does just fine. I upgraded the CPU from a T5270 Core 2 Duo @ 1.4Ghz to a T9300 Core 2 Duo @ 2.5Ghz The faster CPU does make the laptop run a little hotter under load. I use a Zalman Laptop cooler while running Folding@Home and my temps at 100% C...

F@H Video Tour - Request

I think many of the Folding@Home community would like to see a Video of the Pande Labs & Server Rooms. Many of of here are computer hardware addicts and would like to see the Assignment Servers, Stats Server, and Where to data is stored. A brief tour of where your team does their research and th...

Re: Project 2669?

How would one define the urgency of a particular project, if not by how long it's been going? I would look at the deadline for each WU to determine the importance of the Work Unit to that particular project. Project 2669 for example has been going for a year, but may be very important to the Pande ...

Re: Standardizing the Core/Client to Third-Party Interface

No, this is a completely new and unreleased client with a new API. I think we'll need to have some careful internal discussions about this. It would be nice to make things simpler for third-party developers, but we also have a difficult line to walk. I can not speak for others, but this is of top p...

Re: Storage@Home and platforms

Is there any time frame for the first beta release? It is very rare they will give any type of time frame on a release. Storage@Home is very important to the Pande Group. They are collecting massave amounts of data and need places to store it, so it is in their interest to get this up and running.
