fpd GLXBadContext

I'm a newbie to folding, so if this is a FAQ or belongs elsewhere, please give me a pointer

I'd like to see something cool from my folding. It looks like fpd is the right tool for my Ubuntu 8.4 system. But when I run it, I get a flash of a window and it exits. When I run it with

I get

I have no idea what to do next, as the window is far too fast to read any messages.

The system has a # ATI Technologies Inc M56GL [Mobility FireGL V5250] Display likes 1680x1050 and X-windows works fine.
