500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
Hi! A few days ago I created an account, launched 2 computers, everything was fine. I launch it with this script: bash -c "$(curl -s -L (website link removed by moderator - j ) | tr -d '\r')"
Then I turned off the computer. And yesterday, I decided to launch it again. But now I constantly have error 500. I tried to launch it on different computers, different locations. It's useless. What am I doing wrong?

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
As I can not find your IP address or email listed as a known spammer, I have approved this post with the download site removed. Assuming you are actually trying to do folding, all I can say is scan your system deeply for malware and uninstall anything from this download. That site is not an approved site for downloading the folding client and appears to be a pirated software site in China.
There are just a few non-foldingathome download sites approved for Linux distributions. It is best practice to download directly from https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/ to do your install. There is a user guide available for download as well. If you could post where you found directions to use the method and site you posted, we can try to have that shut down.

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
Registered to say that I'm having the same issue, despite having downloaded Folding@Home from the official website (+ the modification recommended in another thread to make it work on Debian 13).
I'm seeing a lot of log lines which look like:
19:45:27:I1:OUT1:> PUT https://api.foldingathome.org/machine/[...] HTTP/1.1
19:45:28:I1:OUT1:< HTTP/1.1 500 HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR
19:45:28:E :OUT1:HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR: 500 HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR
Possibly related to this, the dashboard at https://v8-4.foldingathome.org/ has been giving me a variety of error messages today: I keep being logged out and unable to log back in, with Firefox's network inspector reporting "CORS failed" and "NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI". And when I can log in, I get a pop-up saying that my machine has been automatically linked to my account, but then the status page says it's unlinked (and checking from a separate device shows that indeed it isn't linked to my account). So I wonder if the API server is having issues and that's having a bunch of different knock-on effects.

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
Same error here, I posted about it on the Discord server.
Fresh ubuntu install , with a brand new f@h V8 installation (same result with official .deb or tar.bz2)
Behaviour also confirmed by one of our team member who did the same thing (new installation of f@h client from official site)

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
Same here. I can't log in or pause/finish my folding.
I noticed if I visit: https://api.foldingathome.org/
I get this response in Firefox...
> Websites prove their identity via certificates, which are valid for a set time period. The certificate for api.foldingathome.org expired on 8/22/2025.

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
It's a different issue, I think.
Yesterday, api.foldingathome.org was working fine (no expired certificate) when we had these HTTP500 errors.
Of course now, everything is borked with this expired certificate

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
I agree
It started with the 500 errors only on new rigs / instance with clients already connected to a node still being visible and updated in webUI
Today yes cannot log on webUI on top of that

Re: 500 (HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR)
APIs are back but the /machine endpoint is still giving HTTP500 error for new installation (this issue happened before the SSL certificates expired)
GETting the /gpus works fine, but PUTing the new /machine gives an HTTP500 error.

Can someone look into this too ?
Thank you.

I reported the issue to the dev, but I didn't hear back from him yet.
