Can I find a really old account profile?

Post by Englandr753 »

Hi,

I've been wanting to start back to folding but I wanted to do it with an old account that I don't have access to the email that was used to register it. I'd let it go and create another team, BUT, my reasoning has a lot of merit to continue with the old account. My mom and dad both had started folding with me in the mid 2000's but they have since passed and I would love to start back up with the same team, so I can build that account up with them included in the team list, if that's still possible.

Can anyone assist with this? You'd be worshiped for at least a day or two if so, lol.

I have a Threadripper machine with a 7900XTX and another system with two 3090ti gpus that are being used for AI I may even put my wife's rig in as well that has a 3080, if the heat doesn't run her out of her office, lol.

Thanks for you time and direction,
Rodney

You are free to continue using your old username, team, passkey. There were no actual accounts with v7. You only needed the email to get a forgotten passkey.

If, as was not recommended, you used an email as your username, you can continue doing so. Stats will truncate the name at the @ character.

Usernames are not unique.

The only thing that was registered back then were teams. Each team had a listed "founder" with an associated email and password for making changes to the team. But those are not required to contribute, you just enter the team number for the team used in the past.

I guess that's what I was really asking for was how do you find your old team number? This was probably at least 15 years ago.

If you know your username, you can search stats.

The username you used then, or the ones used by your parents can be searched in the stats and from that what team they were associated with can be found. The donor search function can do some wildcarding of the searches if you aren't certain of the exact spelling you used.

The team name can also be looked up and the number for it found.
