You probably don't have a WU to dump.

I also just noticed I wasn't getting an assignment, but log had lines like

Code: Select all

07:22:30:W :Connection:CON101:DNS lookup failed for assign5.foldingathome.org:443
I toggled my wifi off and on, then stopped and relaunched the client to fix. (possibly overkill)
My problem is different than yours.

What resources have you assigned to the client? How many CPUs? What GPUs?

I don’t think there is currently any work for intel iGPUs. Is that the only thing getting the server error?

You might want to try the debug build. If you do, don’t use verbosity greater than 3.

actually, I can't retrieving dGPU wu at the same time. not only iGPU wu.
and, i tried disable iGPU on folding setting, can retrieving work properly right now after pervious wu completed. I think wu assignment server may have sth. issue when iGPU n dGPU request new wu simultaneously.

The v8 download page has debug packages listed below the release packages.

08:35:42:D3:WU58:}
log shows fah only request iGPU wu even dGPU available after dGPU wu completed...
workaround: manually disabled iGPU on fah setting

i think this bug may cause all platform that user owned multi gpu , not only iGPU cause.

How do you connect to the Internet ? Is there a proxy or something like this ?

Can you access http://assign1.foldingathome.org/ in a web browser on the same machine ?

like VPN, use OpenVPN tap handle whole network connection can't directly connect to internet. n fah client won't connect though http proxy i tested before. assign*.foldingathome.org can display properly on the same machine.

I think not network cause in this issue, may caused by client logic. when disable iGPU everything works.

I haven't been able to connect to the F@H servers for a few days now while using the V8 client. I assume the team is just on break for the holidays and hopefully this will be fixed in the new year?
