New Core 0xA9

Post by psaam0001 »

I have noticed that there is a new core type that is listed on the Server Stats page, as what I'm believing to be Gromacs A9. Is there information that can be publicly shared at this time in regards to it (new features or tweeks)?

Not too much yet at this time. The new core is in internal testing, and final details have not been set yet. A9 will be based on a newer version of the GROMACS code than was used for the A8 folding core.

Sounds good.... Hopefully we are getting close to finishing the A7 project WU's that are currently in the pipeline.

What is the holdup with the A7s?
My machine is only getting A8, no matter which project preference I set.
I would think at some point they'd be flagged as high priority.
Hard to get ongoing grant money if your results won't return for many years.

As far as I know the A7 projects shown as "active" are either not high priority at the moment as they are COVID ones dating to 2020, or on a server that is online but not actively assigning for one reason or another. The COVID ones may get assigned to provide additional statistical data around some particular configuration. Many of the initial COVID projects weren't funded by grant money.

It looks like you got a bad WU ... you have to report it here : viewforum.php?f=19

Give project/run/clone/gen references so that someone could look at it. If you can't access this data, please post some log showing the WU being downloaded.
