Issues with some FAH services
There seems to be some issues with some FAH services ...
Main AS is down but secondary one seems to be working ...
download.foldingathome.org seems down.
Some tools are unavailable too.
External stats (like EOC) are not updating.
I alerted the staff.

Re: Issues with some FAH services
I got a confirmation from a researcher at WUSTL that everything (including non-FAH servers) is down there ... he's trying to contact their IT to get more informations.

Re: Issues with some FAH services
Confirmation that the server which provides our clients with updated point totals (the stats server) is up and running again. As I see my points total again.

Re: Issues with some FAH services
They have not been at Stanford for several years since Dr. Pande's lab was closed down. He took a job in the private sector , and stayed on part time at Stanford to supervise the lab as his students finished up their research and degrees.fz4z wrote:Is the FAH server no longer at Stanford
The Folding@home Consortium continues the F@h projects under the leadership of Dr Bowman assisted by Drs Voelz and Chodera. Servers are located at the various labs participating in the consortium as well as some on cloud services such as AWS. During the peak response for COVID additional servers were provided by several corporations as well.

Re: Issues with some FAH services
Main AS is at WUSTL, secondary AS is in the cloud.
Main site is in the cloud, but download.foldingathome.org is at WUSTL (probably to save costs on bandwidth) ...
Work servers are all around the world at various labs and companies that are working with FAH.

Re: Issues with some FAH services
Pardon my ignorance, what is WUSTL?

Re: Issues with some FAH services
Three main F@h locations are WUSTL - Washington University in St Louis, Temple University, and MSKCC - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Greg Brown is at WUSTL, Dr Vincent Voelz is at Temple, and Dr John Chodera is at MSKCC.
There is a page on the main website - https://foldingathome.org/about-2/the-f ... onsortium/ - that lists current and former members of the F@h Consortium. I am not certain how recently it has been updated, but it mentions most if not all institutions that are or have been part of the projects.
