New WU behaving strangely after GPU swap

Hello,

I am new to interacting with the folding community, please let me know if I can provide further info or am posting incorrectly.

I swapped my R9 280X for a 660ti into one of my slots on the same board with a GTX 1050. The 1050 is folding as per normal, but the 660ti at first started at 99.99% and now is reaching "checkpoints" every few minutes and climbing by whole percents (1.00% to 2.00%).

I assumed maybe it picked up from a WU that the R9 hadnt completed, but I cant seem to figure out how to dump the WU and start over. Or if that is even what needs to be done.

Take my advice with a lot of grains of salt, since I'm not familiar with the issue, but, if i were you, i would DDU both drivers (current Nvidia and the past AMD drivers for the card that is no longer in use) and then i would reinstall both latest drivers for the 660 and 1050.

Can you post the first couple hundred lines of your log, not just the folding slot you're having issues with. Some of us might ogle at it too hard and spot something no one else has.

% progress - The log records the percentage progress in whole numbers only and is a solid record of the progress so far. The percentage progress that Advanced and web control show are only an estimate with corrections made when each percentage milestone is reached and logged. The advanced/web control panels can take a while to settle down in the first few percent of a new unit, their progress estimate can be downright screwy at times.

Not sure what the issue is. Even though we only two data points these times seem consistent and not terrible.

Core crash - yes, it sometimes happens. The client is designed to picks itself back up again and run with it. If it crashes/restarts too often then it will dump the unit(s) and request a new one.

R9 280x left overs - I doubt it. The scientists configure the work units to run on specific groups of hardware. If your computer no longer has hardware which meets those requirement then it is dumped and a new unit requested which is suitable for your hardware.

Other than the "99.99%" which isn't in this log extract, there's nothing jumping out at me as being wrong there.

If you're not happy with it then you could try removing all your folding slots (this will dump all your active work units), update everything in sight (GPU, motherboard, operating system, facebook status )and then reboot your system. When the FAHClient starts up it should reconfigure folding slots for your available hardware.

My advice for the future - before carrying out maintenance/upgrades on your system finish all work units on all slots on that system and the work queue is completely clear. It doesn't matter how trivial or straightforward the work may seem, the moment you take the system offline you have no idea what issues you will encounter and/or when it will be back up again. I learned this the hard way.
