Who has a no-gpu system?

Who has a no-gpu system?
Don't get excited. I have noting new to announce. I'm just taking a survey.
Who has a CPU-only system?
I'm looking for people who have no GPUs. Of course I exaggerating a bit. What I really mean is that the only GPU in your system is a Intel iGPU (which is probably disabled with respect to FAH.
Just attach a description of your compute devices. The iGPU must be Gen 7 or greater (i.e.- listed in GPUs.txt).

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
I have an Intel Core i5-9400 CPU
The iGPU is Intel UHD Graphics 630.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
@Jonazz
Please post the system description from the early part of FAH's log.
We need the hex codes for the CPU and GPU
Intel 0x3e91
Intel 0x3e92
Intel 0x3e98
Intel 0x3e9b
Intel 0x9bc5
Intel 0x9bc8

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
I am using a laptop with an iGPU
The GPU is
0x8086:0x5916:3:1:KBL GT2 [HD Graphics 620]
Edit by Mod:
Your log says you have an INTEL CFL GT2 [UHD Graphics 630] at timestamp 13:10:44
but FAH is, in fact detecting a KBL GT2 [HD Graphics 620] by seeing a 0x5916 device.
I"m confused.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
For a good while I ran an AMD system with no GPU, not even an iGPU.
To get a desktop I had to remote into it from another computer.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
I had posted before noticing the thread belonged in the Intel iGP subforum (serves me right for just hitting the active topics button).
Anyway, the two systems in my sig are just the systems setup for folding. One is CPU only folding and the other is GPU only folding.
Beyond that I do have a virtualisation server running on an i5-7400 which has HD Graphics 630, this quite probably is the type of setup you're looking for. I'm just not sure if I want to, or can, provide it for folding as the OS is Windows server core 2019 which can sometimes cause problems with installing and running packages.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
Two things to note here:aetch wrote:I had posted before noticing the thread belonged in the Intel iGP subforum (serves me right for just hitting the active topics button).
Anyway, the two systems in my sig are just the systems setup for folding. One is CPU only folding and the other is GPU only folding.

1) The Intel KBL GT2 HD Graphics 630 is currently being evaluated as a member of a beta test for benchmarking.
2) You do not have OpenCL drivers, so you'd need to install them before there's a chance of the GPU doing anything useful. (CUDA is optional and would be limited to nVidia GPUs anyway.)
Posting FAH's log:
How to provide enough info to get helpful support.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
Hmmm, an intel CPU without discrete GPU but with CUDA. I think you're looking for a non-existent unicorn here.bruce wrote:2) You do not have OpenCL drivers, so you'd need to install them before there's a chance of the GPU doing anything useful. Anyways, the intel drivers are now installed.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
so i fixed this, issue is I had 2 drivers installed, now seems to work goes in "running" but can't progress and remains stuck on 0.00% after a full night.mik wrote:i do, but can't make it work.
Looking at GPU usage it seems to me it is doing things for FAH but....no progress.
I have an UHD600 (Gen9, N4100 processor)
Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
Does anyone have a solution for this?mik wrote:so i fixed this, issue is I had 2 drivers installed, now seems to work goes in "running" but can't progress and remains stuck on 0.00% after a full night.mik wrote:i do, but can't make it work.

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
Can you post your updated logs. You might still have a driver problem.
Re: Who has a no-gpu system?
I have a 2 compute towers running 20x Intel Atom X5-Z8350, with 2GB of 1066Mhz DDR3 RAM on Linux.
I don't really use it for FAH, as Fah has GPU accelerated WUs that run way more efficient.
I do run the Intel GPU (using Beignet OpenCL drivers), to tackle some math problems, Not sure if they're considered Gen 6 or Gen 7 iGPUs.
40 of these using roughly 200W equal about the performance of a single RTX2070 to 2080 doing 140-160W.
I run them, because I have the hardware available, however, I am thinking of permanently disabling them, as the project (The Collatz Conjecture) isn't really anything but a project to get high PPDs...
