Hi,
As previously disclosed, I'm not Linux guy at all - but that's the box I'm running one of my FoldingAtHome sets on (because: GPU).
I'm running FAH 7.4.4.
In viewtopic.php?f=61&t=34466 it's announced that a C-19 sepecific v. has been released.
But I can't find it for Ubuntu 20.04 64 bit AMD. A bit confused by the various file options. I tried drilling down from foldingathome.org/releases but got nowhere.
Tried: wget https://download.foldingathome.org/rele ... _amd64.deb and got nowhere.
So what is the procedure using terminal to get the correct file(s) and install them (and re-start FAHClient, etc.)?
Thanks.

You would do better to install Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. On newer versions, you won't be able to use FAHControl and it will be a pain.
There's a good howto here: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/10 ... lding-rig/
And if you want to fold for COVID-19, you have to install FAH 7.6.9

The older versions of the client will still get Covid-19 Projects as a priority over other types - setting preference to "Any" cause may be required but I think not … so it isn't a requirement to upgrade to keep fighting Covid-19 … someone will correct me if this isn't the case I am sure..
There may be other reasons for upgrading but I'll let others clarify those.

As I understood, all clients up to 7.6.9 give priority to COVID-19 projects, but you have to run 7.6.9 to be able to select those exclusively. So if you want or need that, you're bound to install it. There are a few other things that are supposed to work better, as well. There's that bug with the PGU.txt file, though. For my part, I'm still running 7.5.1 everywhere as I started a test with it. I'll upgrade when it will be over.

The word "prefer" or "request" would be a better word instead of "select" as your client will suggest a preference to the Servers but if that's not available, you will be assigned a WU that suits your hardware. In other words, you will be assigned a WU, it will either be your preferred cause or not.ajm wrote:...all clients up to 7.6.9 give priority to COVID-19 projects, but you have to run 7.6.9 to be able to select those exclusively...
