Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
RTX 2070
After days folding with my GPU I have stopped receiving any new GPU projects while CPU works non-stop. At has been almost 48 hours since last GPU project.

Re: Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
Appears to be a shortage of GPU WU's. I'm sure that they are working on it.

I only got 1 OPENMM WU all day yesterday
Re: Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
The staff is working on getting more GPU WUs out. If your timer for the next WU request goes up to multiple hours, you can pause the idle slot for a minute and then restart it. This resets the timer.
Re: Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
The scientists are operating at saturation levels to produce more research studies. GPUs do a better job of chewing through bigger projects rapidly.
Fortunately, the projects that are routed to CPUs often are smaller and are more prone to having a family of projects like "try all of these old drugs and see which ones are promising...." Both are important research tools but the laws of suppy and demand work differently.
Then, too, our perception varies. Several small projects may seem more rewarding than one larger project.

You have to wonder why they bother saying all this on the splash screen, it is obvious no one reads it.

nVidia has powered up their rig and ate all the WUs. Check out team 259918.

update: issue was resolved only the second I updated to the new stable version.

absolute monsters of WUs crunchers. their daily is what my measly 1x RTX2060 would make in 1.4 years.

Re: Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
I haven't received a single WU for my GPU since I fired up folding@home a couple of weeks ago.
I'm running a Radeon HD 6950. Not the fastest car on the block but still enough to do DP floats so it should qualify for most GPU WUs, right?
I have OpenCL 2.0.4.0 which should be sufficient?
I've tried to be patient, but now I felt I just had to ask...

Re: Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
FAH uses SP floats mostly. Your card should be fine though. It sounds like you may be encountering some kind of error. We would need more information about your setup to help you. I suggest making a new post including your system info and log dump.Octofinger wrote:I'm running a Radeon HD 6950. Re: Am I the only one not getting GPU projects?
Thanks for the swift response. Just because I posted, I probably sorted my issue out. I've had all sorts of timeout messages and also no available WU messages, but turns out in between I have had failed WUs for GPU. Just after posting I got a WU but error messages that FAH couldn't set the opencl-index automatically so now that I manually set it to zero, it started to process the WU. So guess I'm all sorted out now after all.NoMoreQuarantine wrote: FAH uses SP floats mostly. Your card should be fine though. It sounds like you may be encountering some kind of error.
