Is my GPU correctly setup?

Post by sk69 »

I installed folding client for the first time on my Windows laptop yesterday. Soon I got WU for my CPU and GPU (RTX 2060) and all seemed fine. Though my web control showed tht my GPU was processing some work in percentage, but there was no project detail, and the project detail was stuck at "loading..." for my GPU. CPU processing was all fine and it was processing some COVID work. To try and fix it, I tried playing with the gpu slot in advanced, and that completely broke my app and it stopped loading. So later I reinstalled the folding client.

Now, I see that my CPU again got some work and started processing, but the GPU has not received any work yet. I understand that it might be becuase there is shortage of WUs for GPU, but I also notice that my GPU log is not updated in the advanced settings. Last log was around 3 hours back. Is that expected?

Right now my Slot 0 log for CPU is :
18:43:47:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Completed 50000 out of 500000 steps (10%)
18:46:31:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Completed 55000 out of 500000 steps (11%)
18:49:19:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Completed 60000 out of 500000 steps (12%)
18:51:58:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Completed 65000 out of 500000 steps (13%)

and my Slot 1 log for GPU is :
16:49:38:WU01:FS01:Connecting to 65.254.110.245:8080
16:49:38:WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get assignment from '65.254.110.245:8080': No WUs available for this configuration
16:49:38:WU01:FS01:Connecting to 18.218.241.186:80
16:49:39:WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get assignment from '18.218.241.186:80': No WUs available for this configuration
16:49:39:ERROR:WU01:FS01:Exception: Could not get an assignment

As you may see there is difference in the time of last log entry.

I'd need to see more of your log but it looks like it's doing the right things.

Recently, a lot of new people joined FAH. There's not always enough work to be handed out, or more precisely, the servers are sometimes too busy to hand out new work.
See viewtopic.php?f=24&t=32463.

Just keep your client running, it will eventually get work.

I wonder if there is a bug within project 11777. I did a work unit for that project yesterday and i got the same "loading..." message that never changed to the project description.

If a project description is missing which can happen when things are hectic like now it can't load a description hence loading .. the WU should still be progressing it is just that there is no information to tell you about it
